Not seeing the star isn't a quite good prove to me ;) I've seen the star so many times in the moment it disappeared, so it's not that impossible...
I totally agree (but level scores in the level menu still would be great :D )!!!!
Why don't you capture a screenvid (by your pocket camera) and if you think, you got the bug on video, you can watch video and maybe you'll see you...
Because of the fact, a star in a specific level is showing up at different spots, i guess you just missed it ;)
