I do 95% of my iOS gaming on the 4th gen. iPod, but the rare times I play games on the family iPad 2 are a better experience I'll admit.
8 hours of Infinity Blade II/Dead Space/Shadowgun on the iPad 2 is a good estimate from personal experience.
