For some reason it needed over 3gb free... I had 3.4 gb free... but the install size is 1.3GB... download size is 1.28GB... so it's weird I needed...
I'm on an iPhone4S/16gb with iOS 6.0.1 installed and there's sound. I don't have an iPad to test it on but it works perfectly in my setup.
