How about Crimson Gem Saga then? It has also 40 hours of quality RPG gameplay.
No idea about the text editor question, but for the game, Battle for Wesnoth has over 200hours of gameplay.

Gameloft games usually suck, so I can't imaging wanting any of them enough to pick it up at full price. Also, there are some that never reached .99.
