I promise I did not read that article. It's just my opinion, pretty much cuz I traded Pujols for Braun, Carpenter, and Agonz on my fantasy team :D

The Phils are the one team I would NOT want to see in the post season. I think that the Cards have a deeper offense but even with two Cy Young canidates on our team I still respect their pitching staff. Our bullpen scares the hell out of me and Franklin still needs to prove he can still close in October.

Here's my picks for the postseason

    AL
    Yankees
    Twins
    Mariners
    WC-Rays

    NL
    Phils
    Cards
    Rockies
    WC-Reds

Mets do have a shot at the WC if they keep playing like they are now.

A lot, but not most. And through trades. Remember that. It wasn't like the BoSox and others weren't in on A-Rod and Tex.

Or they play the "we have a good farm system game" ala the Dodgers. The Yanks didn't have that benefit for a number of years until recently because they traded all of their good young talent for overpriced superstars. Guess what happened then? They didn't win championships.

Not gonna happen due to the players union.

This is the system they are under. The other teams have Yankee, Sox, Mets, Dodgers, etc. money through revenue sharing. What does that give us? Debacles like the Pirates.

Anyone who thinks that is full of sour grapes.

If they "buy" championships, they'd win year in and year out as they usually have the highest payroll. Only they don't win year in and year out. The 90s dynasty itself won due to positional role players acquired through trade and the "core" of younger players (Jeter, Posada, Bernie, Mo, Petitte), NOT high priced free agents.

    *points to standings

yes, 162 game season and all, but ALL of the NL teams are HIGHLY flawed, including those vying for the wild card. The Mets have as good a shot as any team of making the NL wild card and ANYTHING can happen in a short series.

hmm, yeah the Giants are probably a better shot at the WC than the Reds, but they always seem to blow it so I went with the Reds.

Angels? Good manager, the team may have a shot at the postseason, its not that great of a division they're in, but I don't think the Angels have all the pieces right now to win the WS this year. But who knows they may make a big trade/upgrade.

Too early for me to make my picks for the actual WS yet. Usually I do at the start of the season, but this year is a little different. I have a feeling there's gonna be a couple surprise teams that are gonna start emerging as contenders. One team I do NOT think will win it all this year is the Yankees, even though they're good and have the pieces, they just won last year and I have a feeling they don't have the same desire/incentive this year, so that kind of leads me to believe that they'll make it to the postseason and get knocked out at some point. That's my guess but they are certainly good enough to win it all again if they really want to, I just don't see it happening. For the record I am NOT a Yankee fan, and I think the team will start to fall apart sooner than later from old veterans not being what they used to/injuries and what I would call lack of genuine team chemistry in the clubhouse.
