+1, yeah, I don't see a need for a fast forward...now I would like it if the incoming soldier icons appeared at the sides of the screen faster so we could get them to come in sooner, right now, the current soldier has to get at least 1/2 to 3/4 of the way to the goal before an icon appears, i would like it if the next guy queues up immediately once you draw a successful path for the 1st guy a score of "just 72" ...sheesh and here I am thinking i pwn with 31
i thought about how the "freeze guard" powerup could be implemented: you take the powerup and a fake soldier (a soldier crash test dummy - or even a hologram! ) appears in front of one of the guard. The guard shoots at it and you can get past him.
Just improved a bit with a score of only 102 this time but still pants Gets a bit manic at times trying to keep an eye on all your soldiers and the guards and it's easy to lose track of everyone on screen but great fun all the less.
Agh! How did I miss this. Looks like Commandos for the PC. I know you aren't accepting testers, but I went to register anyways. After I clicked submit, I got a black screen with no confirmation.
Current high of 54 but most games range from high teens to low 30s. I +1 about no need for speed up but I understand that there are some studs *cough**Clymos* that might want it. Disagree about being able to change destinations. Would dramatically change the feel, and I think would take a lot of challenge out. I also have reservations about powerups. This is really about stealth, and line management like many of the other games, and powerups would really have to be carefully worked in to not appear as though they are just tacked on. Also, for this type of stealth game, I think that powerups, if any should be a double edged sword. My thoughts are getting powerup for X people saved say 15, 35, 50, 70, 100, 150, 200. And, you can choose from several different powerup choices. Powerups Fear - your men move twice as fast, but you can only draw the line from that point once until it runs out. Can still go prone. Knockout - knockout 1 guard for certain time, but other guard(s) move twice as fast. Noisemaker - place a noisemaker within a radius of a guard(s) and they will move toward it at double time. Upon reaching it, their search area in increased, and lengthened slightly for a time. I would like to see an easy mode that 1 guard has a pretty set path, and the other wanders. I think that after playing for a while, you get the hang of it, but early on, it is frustrating always walking into a guard that turned suddenly. I guess this depends on how wide you want your appeal to be. Love the ideas for some vocals. Great board and great ideas. Powerup
This game is really good. Has the most original concept out of all the line drawing games. I'm not really a fan of the time limit, but I get the purpose. You should do an unlimited mode also though. And one thing idk just after playing the other games like harbor master once you draw the line to the port it snaps to it and your line ends at the port. In this game the line goes through the circle idk its not a big deal but it would be cooler if the line inside the circle deleted and it just draws up to the point where you touched the circle. You should also do some kind of flare item or something you can get that draws enemies to that area. Really cool though, great work.
Idea: a power up person who appears randomly like all others that kills a guard if you draw a line to the back of the guard and he doesnt get caught (behind the gaurd.)
I think the randomization of the guards movements need to be increased. There is a pattern to it and if I really wanted to I could exploit it. I got to 124 and then lost because I got distracted and stopped paying attention. I think another good idea would be for a level with land mines that blow up and cost you time is you hit them. Another thing may be a soldier who you can control that temporarily stuns an enemy if you come up behind them outside of their sight. I am still not sure what to think of a fast forward button, maybe one that would make another soldier appear? That could be better than a normal fast forward in my opinion for this game.
Hi sam It could be some thing to do with the 3gs then, its a slight slow down nothing big but you can tell when it happens, it must be a bug of some kind then
When I was plying I had to send a guy back in a panic and he didn't "bounce" off the left edge and I was unable to select him to redraw my line I was able to reproduce any one else with this problem? Great fun here!!!
Hi Sam & all I have rebooted and it was going fine for a bit and then I got slow down, my little guys don't run as fast. It lasts for a few seconds then it speeds up again
I found a bug but I don't know how to reproduce it. At around 120 the third gaurd dissappeared, but the area of his scope still killed my soldiers. I lost two thy way and then the gaurd reappeared where he was supposed to be. I got up to 214 in that game but losing thos two really hurt my score since I had not lost any before them and that made me lose my time bonus
I haven't had that but i've had instances of my soldiers going straight through the guards green line of sight without them killing me,Only happened 3 times and not in same game but still....
