Sweet! I have the original AGWB and spent ages on it. Graphics are definitely different, what about gameplay? Same? I have applied too.
Gameplay is conceptually similar to the original. Our goal is to retain the original's simplicity while also adding a lot more depth. The "infinite" mode is the closest mode to the original, where you play to get the highest time. However, there are a ton of new spawn patterns and after the beta gameplay will be much more refined than the original AGWB (thanks to all of you!). We're also working on a variety of themes with music which correspond to changed gameplay. These will be a part of the level mode (the new main mode) which incorporates shield mechanics and pre-set spawn patterns into the game. We want to emphasize "less is more" and reward people for firing less, playing smartly, etc. What was your longest time in the original?
I survived 2 minutes and 18 secs for the hard mode. I thought it was great but according to esdin, his sis did so much better! I tend to misjudge that enormous huge ball often and if I don't, one of those tiny balls will rebound and that's game over. I shall look forward to the main mode and the pre-set spawn patterns! For now, it is pretty random.
And she's gotten even better! Last time I asked, she showed me a screenshot of a 21 minute 16 second score. On hard. Completely blew my respectable 5:26 out of the water! There's definitely some cool stuff underneath the hood this time around. The challenges in arcade mode should help you survive those swarms of tiny balls - if you fail the first time, you'll know when they're coming the next!
