I'm really interested in the real world integration, and I dig the overall style and presentation so far. I'm going to buy it regardless just to see it for myself, but I would love to hear some thoughts on it. wonderspark Well-Known Member Jul 29, 2015 199 0 0 #5 wonderspark, Mar 9, 2017 Thanks for the kind words, Talbs (and everyone!) - Happy to answer any questions you might have! One of the goals of this game was to make something you could pick up & put down without penalty. I love strategic multiplayer games, but hated being in the middle of a match & getting interrupted by something I couldn't ignore (in my case, usually, my kids). That tension between "I need to keep playing!" and "I can't keep playing!" got really frustrating, and I found that as much as I loved games like Hearthstone & Vainglory, I stopped playing them because I'd almost always get interrupted mid-match. So a big part of the design of Aftershock is that you can get interrupted any time & lose nothing. Multiplayer is asynchronous turn-based, so you can stop any time. In single player you can just pick it up & put it down, and you'll just resume where you left off. The whole goal with the real-world integration in Adventure Mode was that even if you didn't have time to play because you were doing boring crap (like "working" or "running errands"), your activity would still have an effect on the game that you could see when you played. Anyway! I hope you guys get a chance to check it out. If you do, drop me a friend request in-game (helava), and I'll see you in multiplayer! Thanks! Thanks! wonderspark Well-Known Member Jul 29, 2015 199 0 0 #11 wonderspark, Mar 9, 2017 Hey, Zeroex - there is an IAP for "gold". This is used for a 2x bonus on passive currency (that is, you earn a little bit of Fuel over time, and this doubles it). There's some *very* late-game stuff that can involve gold, but a.) the soonest you'd see it is like, multiple dozens of hours in ,and b.) we're most likely gonna get rid of it anyway - it's a feature we haven't touched in a long while from back when we were considering doing this as a F2P game. We're also going to be getting some character customization into the game (hopefully) soon, and we're likely to have one "premium" suit, along with stuff you can find/earn in Adventure Mode. The reasoning is that we're constantly upgrading the game, and a way to have people get extra stuff if they find it valuable helps fund continued development of features & content. None of this will be required to enjoy everything in the game. That said, right now, unless you like the game enough that you basically just want to support the game, there's *no* reason to get the IAP. You'll earn enough currency through playing Adventure Mode & in the Arena that the "passive currency" isn't anything more than a minimal increase. Hope that clarifies things. Our goal is that you'll get maximum enjoyment out of the game for the purchase price - the IAP is basically there as an option for long-term evolution & support. You *can* play it on an iPad. However, a big part of the game is what you're doing in the real world. So the experience is *optimal* on an iPhone, but you can totally play it on an iPad. If you *only* have an iPad that you habitually leave at home, however, it's a pretty nerfed experience. Hope that clarifies things. wonderspark Well-Known Member Jul 29, 2015 199 0 0 #16 wonderspark, Mar 9, 2017 It does have Game Center, and your accounts are saved in the cloud. The game does require an internet connection, and your character/profile are saved on our servers. So you can switch devices, and as long as your account was linked to GC or Facebook, you're good to go. So it's not Apple's Cloud Saving, but it is cloud saving. sugimulm Well-Known Member Aug 28, 2010 2,457 46 48 The last time zone for iOS game releases :( #17 sugimulm, Mar 10, 2017 Not into card games but this looks great! Just curious what you mean specifically, since obviously we don't want to put something unflattering forward! But yeah, if you're moving around all day, the single player should be neat, 'cause you'll see that reflected in-game.
