You did indeed! Steve at Nexus Games Studios very kindly lent us their character, Gravonaut, as an unlockable! In keeping with his 'freaking hard' nature, Gravonaut's hit box is slightly smaller than that of the other characters. This makes him harder to hit by UFO missile, but also means you have to be more accurate when picking up air and stuff! We also have 'Marv' from Utopian Games' 'Running Wild' in there! Cheers, QS
What up QS! Thanks for turning me on to this forum man, it's great. Can't wait to see Air Supply kick butt on the App store, I'm well psyched!
Basil there is one of our two artists! He did a lot of work on this! He's quite harmless really. Smells a bit, but has a heart of gold! QS
Must admit the graphics look great, love the old skool 'C64' sounding music. Just not keen on these constant running games, if you could run yourself so its a bit like a Mario type game i would love it. Not a knock on this game, just all these running type games are new to me, havent played them before on any computer/console, just cant get into them. Shame as this one does look stunning
How very DARE you, sir! The music was composed completely on a Sinclair ZX Spectrum! I'll have none of this 'C64' nonsense here! You do raise some interesting points! I think you won't find this kind of game on a console because, frankly, they're not really suited to them! I guess they're good on mobile devices because they suit them down to a tee. You could sit at home and play this for hours, or you could play for five minutes while waiting for a bus! It's a genre very much at home on a mobile device, I believe! Perhaps this could be the game that changes your mind? I take it you're a gamer from the 'good old days'? Would it help if I mentioned Elite? I do love the style of the game myself (obviously!) and have been knocking around the idea of doing a platform game featuring the same characters and look. "Air Supply - Side Mission" maybe? Regardless, thanks for looking in, and for your comments! QS
This looks great Love the art style and good to see soo much effort going into the thought of how to make it different from all the other running games. I like the idea of the air supply and looks like theirs lots to unlock. Good job
I just wanna address some of the reservations few people have had regarding this being just another 'endless runner'. When I played a few runners I couldn't really get into them because I would get bored quickly, but as soon as I started playing Air Supply when I got the first build of it, I couldn't put the darn thing down. I knew the game would look great (shameless self plug ), but little was I to know how addictive the gameplay would be. I think you'll all be very pleasantly surprised
For me it just comes down to the gameplay. I have played most the popular running iPhone games and haven't really gotten into any of them (although I appreciate many of them) However, only recently I finally dl'ed bit.trip runner on wii and can't stop. So, I'm always hopeful no matter how many times something has been done. Besides I'm sure sliding is the new black anyways.
I'm not a huge fan of runner games, but this one does look pretty solid and the added mechanics make it more than just a runner game.
More Screenshots! Hey all! Exciting day coming up with iPad 2 news, right? I can't compete with that (yet!), but here are some screenshots put together by Basil! Hope you like 'em! http://tinyurl.com/5vb3zrl QS
