Hi All... Thanks for the kudos! We do hope to release this soon. We are wrapping up some loose ends and we have plans to submit Part 1 of the adventure this month (fingers crossed). Keep an eye on this thread for all the details! In the meantime, here are the iTunes preview shots we just prepared for iPhone.
Congratulations, I find those iTunes preview screens much more appealing than those clean screenshots.
@LazyGamer The view plates earlier are the raw view plates. The screenshots above are actual screenshots from the device. Glad you like them. @Echo7 Thanks! Yes...its hard to show the contents of an adventure in 5 screenshots. I have seen other adventure apps use collages...so we figured it was appropriate. I should note that the samples above are compressed quite a bit and their size reduced (to save a bit on server bandwidth). The actual iTunes previews will be quite a bit sharper. We are still working on polishing up a few features/functions in the inventory. But we are still hoping to get a submittal together sooner than later. We'll keep you all posted.
Hi everyone... I thought I would upload a couple more screenshots. These are from the Gate Keeper's Quarters. We are still hoping to release this soon. Just working on ironing out the last few details on the game engine and doing some final polishing and sound work. Stay tuned.
Hi PnExt... Yes...it will come out...eventually. We are 99.5% of the way there. These types of games are big endeavors and we don't want to release a buggy game. We are in final testing/debugging and hope to wrap that up this weekend. @Whiteplayer3d Yes, this is a classic point and click adventure...like Myst...not like Big Fish's overpriced hidden object boilerplates with a hint of an adventure. @arce, We are making this game available for all devices. Supporting 2G devices are part of the complexity of making this game ready as the processing ability of those older devices are difficult to accommodate. We are testing on an iPod Touch 2G and so far...it seems to be holding up in performance levels. One difficulty we are currently having is a regression bug of Apple in their iOS 5 update that affects audio. If we can implement an effective work around...we should be ready to submit soon. Thank you all for your patience. We want to get this game out to you as soon as we possibly can.
Hey all!!! We have some good news to share with you all. Riddenhurst has been submitted to Apple for review. We'll let you know when its ready for download.
Hi arta, No. There is no video for this...at least not yet. Videos for point and tap adventures are not quite a helpful as they are in other games. Plus we don't want to show too much of the actual game experience as discovering what is inside the game is most of the fun. We've tried to post several static view plates of the game in this thread to help you get a feel of what the game looks like. Doing a video I don't think would add much to that without giving away gameplay secrets/spoilers. But that is not to say we won't have one available down the road.
Woo hoo! Riddenhurst is APPROVED!!! The game has just been released but has not yet shown up on iTunes. But should start to resolve this afternoon or this evening. You can get it here http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/riddenhurst/id479228178?mt=8
It's live on the UK app store. Will be buying it as soon as I get home. Only other one I have bought on release was Dream:scape but I am excited so must be a day 1 purchase
Thanks everyone so far for your support. Riddenhurst is in the TOP 200 US GAMES on iPad already within 6 hours of release. We are floored by the amazing response so far. Thanks again!!!
Picked this up earlier and my initial thoughts are that it is looking likely to be a very good game. Glad it seems to be attracting attention on the app store
An update has been released. We've implemented a hint system to help you along if you get stuck and there is also a map of the castle grounds to assist. The new update has a TON of new story in it with several puzzles and lots to do. I should add...navigation becomes much easier inside the castle walls as there are many more reference points to help you. Dark forests tend to be disorienting...both in games and real life. For those of you that have already downloaded it. We are glad to hear that and hope you enjoy this next installment. It will make use of the mysterious control panel in the outpost, the windmill and the locked pump house. And yes...the castle gates will open (if you can crack the code inside the gate guard's quarters). And as always...there is still more to come soon. Stay tuned and thanks for choosing Riddenhurst!
