I am saddened to say this, but I will never game on that clumsy device. It's just to big. I knew this platform would fail in gaming. Leave that to the iPhone. No one would listen to me though.

I can honestly say I have no interest in the iPad, however with a number of other companies releasing tablets running windows I've got to wonder how long it'll be before we see a true hackintosh tablet. The first company that releases a sub $800 tablet that gets hacked to run OS X gets my money. Hell, this actually might be a good time to get back into windows or ubuntu..
Why couldn't they just call it the itablet? I hate ipad. The ebooks store looks great though. I still want this, as long as it's 500$. Otherwise, I'm not buying it.
Well, that's part of the problem. Apple hasn't focused on re-invigorating the AppleTV product line. I'm not stating that the current AppleTV is "good", but rather that a new one could be LOADS better, and, if Apple opened up an SDK for it, and it's own App Store, ala iPhone/touch, it would be a major game changer in the living room space. Part of the problem is lack of 1080p support, sure. And the small storage size. Those are hardware issues that could be resolved with a new gen AppleTV. But it needs more. It needs an App Store. People seem to be excited over playing NOVA on a bigger screen iTablet. Screw that. Imaging getting an all new exclusive version to play on a new gen AppleTV via it's own section of the App Store, and playing it on your HDTV. That, IMHO, would be more exciting than playing it in very few and specific circumstances on this iPad.
Yeah, but the thing about all of the other e-books is that you can read for hours without your eyes hurting as if watching television. With this thing i'm not so sure it'll go easy on the eyes
You are not alone. Remember that. Others among us felt that it would be too large for on the go gaming. There are some excited about it saying they'll use it to game at home. But why? It's supposed to be portable. And if you were gonna game on Apple hardware at home, wouldn't it make more sense to use an AppleTV, if Apple ever got their heads out of their asses and released new hardware and opened up an App Store for that device?
While you're hoping on the wings of farries that Apple actually gives a flying crap about the Apple TV when it's very clear that they don't I'll be preordering a boxee box. 1080p? check! plays video files that are in formats other then MP4? check! integration of web content? check! app store? CHECKMATE!
I'm with you. That's my point. If Apple released new AppleTV hardware that did all that I wrote, it would be a far more attractive product to you, I and everyone else remotely interested in one or those that don't have any interest in it currently because the new gen release I wrote up would be far more than a digital set top box: it would be a game system, a nettop computer, etc. That's something Boxee won't have ever. And Apple can. But they're too busy ignoring the damned product line, and to me it doesn't make sense for them to do so.

The Wiimote-esque wand that Apple is trying to get a patent on? Yep. I agree. And you know what product line would most benefit from such a controller? AppleTV. If Apple ever got around to making a new one with better features. But like the other poster stated, they're just ignoring the damned thing and instead focusing on a tablet that is quite underwhelming.
Apple is pretty smart when it comes to the future. I read alot of Steve jobs books ( please don't call me a fanboy i just think he's very intersting) and he's quite known for knowing what market to go into. Like the iPhone. Maybe apple doesn't see potential in the itv. Who knows? Anyway, the ipad could be one of their slight fail moments kinda like the itv sorta was. Oh, boy gonna announce pricin it's 499 for 16gb, 599 for 32, and 699 for 64. Not bad. Screw u rumors who suggested 1000. Thatscrazy and apple knows it. This is more afforable.
