Most gameloft games are the definition of mediocre and generic. In fact, their only game that I could consider to be "great" is Dungeon Hunter.

In my opinion, only kids who don't have access to other platforms (Xbox 360, PC, etc.) think that these games are any good.

They put out solid games IMHO. I'm very pleased with their Thanksgiving sales. There isn't as much replayability as other games, but I don't typically buy games to replay them. I have a few already that I can always resort to for sure boredom busting.

Well, I personally like Gameloft games, and I always come back to most of the Gameloft games that I own.

I'm 50/50 on this one. I play real tennis every now and then, and I enjoy NFL 10, MC:S, BIA, and Shrek Kart. Assassin's Creed is probably my favorite game (I'm a huge Assassin's Creed nerd). However, I really really hate Let's Golf, and Terminator Salvation gets old really quick. Blades of Fury I played for about an hour, unlocked all the characters, and haven't played it since.
So, I wouldn't necessarily call them paperweight games, but some of them just aren't up to par.

Exactly. Honestly, how much replay value does a game that costs just $.99 need?

The problem with Gameloft is that they try so hard to bring portable versions of "hardcore" games that JUST DON'T WORK on the iPhone, and the result are games that don't have any depth whatsoever, and are just poor man's clones from popular franchises.

i would have to say yes, they are... except for Dungeon Hunter none of them really interest me at all, and they're like generic copies of of real games. Tried the Modern combat lite version, it was so dang boring, and the Real Tennis and NFL lite versions cut you off after a couple plays, how cheap is that? I did buy a few of them that i was curious about over the weekend, but so far, it's been really disappointing.. (Castle of Magic, im looking at YOU!)

Lots of gameloft games have replayability. I've played through Dungeon Hunter 3 times, playing as each character. Asphalt and Blades of Fury both have great multiplayer, and Sandstorm is getting multiplayer soon!

I bought a bunch this weekend and I can honestly say they're worth the buck I paid for each of them. They're generic clones of popular console games and nothing more.

Having multiplayer doesn't mean that a game has good replay value. If the gameplay is bad, mp is not going to save it (see Blades of Fury, Asphalt and Modern Combat)

Most people don't play games again and again after they beat them. The issue is that Gameloft doesn't make games with infinite re-playability, but I don't see that as a problem. I have bought MANY console games that range from 4-8 hours of play, and those are at $40-70 bucks a pop.

There are games designed to give you a certain experience and lead you through a set of events. If you want mini-games that you can replay for a high score over and over that's fine, but you shouldn't get mad at Gameloft, or expect something more from their game when that experience is not something they are trying to offer.

I am VERY happy with almost all my Gameloft purchases. Sure there are a few duds, but I think some of you guys just expect a little too much for the money you spend. And if you think your dollars are better spent on something else, just do that, you don't need to come here and complain about it...seems weird.

This is complete nonsense. Perhaps you might actually survey adult iphone
users who do not have consoles, and report back with more objective data.

All I can say is that Gameloft games, no matter how much they clone or steal, are very much welcome on my ipod. And even if "console-like" games aren't meant to work on the ipod, like someone above mentioned, some people would prefer having at least something rather than nothing.

Do you really think that "adult" iPhone users consider the iPhone an actual gaming device?

I love Castle Frenzy, Blades of Fury, Dungeon Hunter, and Hero of Sparta, and I still play these games today. So that makes 4.
