Just adding a small update. I have completed most of the Alien Armada. Other than that we are pretty much on our way putting all the loose pieces together for the beta.
For those wondering we are close to releasing the beta. We are aiming at Beta testing next week. This means we are very close to completing the game and submitting it to the Apple Store. Our beta will have a private match option so you can battle against your friends. So if you signed up for beta please find a friend who is willing to test with you. We have multiple sign ups but they are people from around the world and it is hard to coordinate everyone to play in the same match. If you have any questions let me know. Be on the look out for our promo trailer. It should be out this week. Thanks!
It is not too late. PM me your device 40 digit hex UID. Also find a friend who you want to battle against. Our beta test is going to be testing private matches since this is the easiest way to coordinate for now. This way you can coordinate with your friend and create private matches and battle at the same time. We do have plans for the iPad. But yeah we are going to see how it all pans out. Thanks!
The game will be wifi/3G so you can play with your friends anywhere. The game will connect to our servers. =) Please send me over your uid and your friend's uid thanks!

Sorry I almost forgot to answer one of your questions. since the game is on a portable platform we decided that no buildings are required to make units. You just dive into the action by deploying units. There is a AP bar which you have to build up through using your mechs to gather resources from the green crystals. The AP allows you to make units. When you take down another player you are awarded credits which can be used to upgrade your armada for the next game.
