When Maria, a globe-trotting antique restorer, arrives in the sun-soaked town of Bellariva, she has no idea just how broken it will turn out to be. She wants nothing more than to help the town’s inhabitants save their most beloved possessions, but when it’s their personal lives that are starting to fracture, she’ll need to find a way to hold them together, one spare screw at a time. ==== “Feels perfect for mobile” - The Verge “A tactile and touching experience” - Gamesradar “As a study in the wordless pleasure of fixing stuff ... it really sings” - Eurogamer “If ever there was a game to show how games are an art form, this is it.” - Touch Arcade ==== MEANINGFUL PUZZLES: Explore the objects through Maria’s eyes and find a way to restore them. I never would have bought this game if it wasn’t in something like Apple Arcade because of the length, but I’m glad it was. ste86uk, andsoitgoes and houseofg like this. Finished it in one sitting. Perfect candidate for Arcade. Ringerill and andsoitgoes like this. coloncruncher Well-Known Member Mar 14, 2016 76 2 8 #8 coloncruncher, Sep 24, 2019 Also loved this. It was unbelievably charming and the VO who does the main character definitely deserves all the accolades for making me deeply care about her story. I will say that the gameplay is amazing and I wanted more. So much more. It is far from challenging but yet it remained compelling and deeply enjoyable. the story had a few flat points, mostly due to the less than stellar performance of the young girl, but the main storyline absolutely sucked me in. Was it like watching a 30 minute sitcom in the 80s where everything is magically wrapped up in the easiest way possible? Yeah of course. But at the same time it’s also a very moving portrait about recognizing and appreciating what you have when you have it, and to learn to get over your pride to let love in. Even flawed it was a game I could not put down and I would totally listen to Rebecca LaChance read the phone book. And it makes sense she’s a broadway caliber actress, her voice is so damn soothing. I have played more AA games in the last week than I have iOS games I’ve paid full price on. I do not know what magic the developers have been able to do here. I really don’t. But whatever it is, it is working and if Apple dropped a yearly AA subscription tomorrow I would snap it up in a heartbeat. I love the bite size nature of the games. I would also strongly urge everyone here to play Neo Cab which I also could not put down, that was a hell of a compelling experience. But after the comments here I give it a download and have just played the first 4 levels and I really like it. It’s another example of something I would not have purchased but with it being AA I get to enjoy an experience I would otherwise have missed out on. I’m actually pretty ok with some of these AA games being short and enjoyable because there’s a mix and it still has longer more meatier games. I’ll definitely be finishing this and Possessions very soon but as they are short I’m trying to spread my time out with them a little so I don’t do it all in one go. stubbieoz and ROGER-NL like this. This was definitely a game that I normally would not have given a second glance in the AppStore. I have so many unfinished games in my iPad library that it was a pleasant change to actually complete a game. I’m now keen to try other obscure games in the Arcade. ste86uk likes this. But hey I don’t see that as a problem at all with the nature of AA. I’m happy for the experience I had gotten out of this gem. ste86uk likes this. Georgina Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Jan 30, 2010 361 7 18 Sydney #17 Georgina, Oct 10, 2019 Yeah, this is the kind of game that's perfect for AA: short, but with a lot of love behind it. The tinkering sections reminded me of flash games I played years ago where there was a complicated-looking box you had to disassemble piece by piece. (Similar to this game but much less obvious/more tricky.) That sort of thing seems like it'd be a natural for touch screens. ste86uk likes this. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #18 ste86uk, Oct 10, 2019 Anyone else think after playing this that you could now take things apart and fix them yourself lol ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #19 ste86uk, Jun 19, 2020 Oo been keeping my eye on this one after offloading it to save space and it’s just had an update adding a new chapter.
