People are going to love it!" -- David Lync… TouchArcade Rating: $0.99 Buy Now Watch Media Details"Band Together is a fantastic game to play. It is super cool. People are going to love it!" -- David Lynch, DirectorThank you SO MUCH to our early supporters!!Band Together is an addictive micro-platformer with single screen puzzles for the iPad 2 and the New iPad featuring gorgeous Retina graphics! It was developed by a team of three students overseen by Dave Taylor ("Doom", "Quake", "Abuse", "Karateka"). Art direction and overall game design was provided by John Chalfant, best known for his stunning characters in the WarCraft 3 trailers, his design work on Arthas (the "Lich King") for World of WarCraft, for his many collaborations with David Lynch, and most recently for the iconic key art used to promote "Batman: Arkham City"."Band Together is like Little Big Planet meets Lemmings...but with thumbtack death machines! How cool is THAT?" -- Duane Stinnett, Art Director on Starcraft and Diablo"As an aficionado of the cute and twisted, I love the art direction of Band Together." -- Lorne Lanning, Creative Director of the Oddworld Quintology"The characters are 'cuddly' but in a very sophisticated way, and the thumbtack 'nemesis' element is brilliant, not just clever. The shading, the overall ambience is thoroughly conducive in complimenting the overall 'story' base of creatures under threat. Kudos." -- Syd Mead, Designer"Countless times I've witnessed people get transfixed and mesmerized by Band Together (myself included). I'm impressed that students were able to craft a game so engaging and addictive." -- Mike L. Murphy, Animator, Lord of the RingsThe Backstory:Michael Silverstein is nicknamed "Midge" by the mean kids in school because he has tiny, tiny hands. Frustrated, Midge retreats to his Great Aunt's attic, where he makes things with his tiny hands that no one else can. While digging through the bowels of the attic, Midge finds an old, dusty shoebox. Inside are curious little creatures fast asleep. When exposed to the light, they all wake up and stare at Midge's tiny hands like they're the hands of God.Midge quickly takes a shine to the little creatures and decides to call them "Bandies" because they seem to like to band together. While they don't say much, Midge eventually discovers that the Bandies are pining to be "tested", so he begins to build a series of diabolical tests to push the mysterious little Bandies to their limits! The Game:Welcome to "Band Together: The Unboxing" for the iPad 2 and new iPad. Simply touch a Bandi, and drag him where you want to go. Remember to keep all your Bandies well lit so they don't fall asleep, and steer clear of thumbtack death machines, pencil pit traps, baseball boulders, and more. Figure out how to reach the popsicle stick pressure plates and miniature switches that open the trapdoors, retract the pencil walls, and move up the platforms that will get the bandies to the exit. Part puzzle game, part adventure- all painfully cute fun for your iPad 2 and the new iPad!Game Features: o Dozens of engaging levels with a gentle learning curve! o Watch the story unfold in Midge's hand-drawn secret journal! o Skip the levels that you aren't ready for and return to them later! o See how many Bandies you can save on each level! o Thoroughly tested on children aged 4 to 100! No kidding! o No blood, no gore, but strangely satisfying anyway!Special Platform Features: o Gorgeous, ultra-high-definition graphics for the New iPad! o High-definition graphics for the iPad 2! o Super broken and slow on the original iPad! Please don't buy it for that!Check out the trailer at http://bandtogetherthegame.comThanks:We would like to thank Unity (particularly Joe Santos!) for their support and for making a wonderful game engine to make shipping this title much easier! Now, I get this game, and starracing for free. Feels much better being a non early adopter for a change which is strange. Guess the grass is always greener on the other side... Ragdoll Blaster was also very popular, and RB 2 and Dragonvale. Tunnel Shoot was a good game, I thought, but I don't think it ever caught on. Anyways, I thought they were/are a reasonably steady successfully development team. Maybe they are having some significant financial issues. I hope not, but I grab this game with anticipation that it is going to be a pretty good game. Tannorexic Well-Known Member Dec 5, 2011 602 0 0 Student Somewhere in the spiritual realm #10 Tannorexic, Jun 26, 2012 How disgusting is it that the average rating is now 1 star, all because the whiners are annoyed about the price drop. Really sad when you can see how much love and effort went into the game. later on the devs might even bring out a special IAP that is only unlocked for free by the people who purchased the game.so don't get your knickers in a gwist. But even if they don't, which they shouldn't, they have no reason to. They aren't trying to punish you, they're just trying to get their name out there and make their game a success! Is that a crime? You'd do the same. If you liked the look of Tyne game so much that you were willing to spend $5 or $3 on the game, then you should be happy you supported the developers. If the game was just free all the time they obviously wouldn't survive and wouldn't ever create more games or update their old ones. We have ALL lost money by sales/free games.. I've lost HEAPS! probably at least $50 total over the past year or two. It's the name of the game. We lose some, we win some. But in the end we should be happy that our small contribution is helping the developers in some way ($5 isn't much, but if 1000 people buy it it's 5000, nothing to sneeze at) We have to remember we are in a community where games are merely pocket change. If this was a Xbox game that was $100 and went down to $0 I can imagine the anger. But it's $5/$3. And you've still got the game, which you were originally happy to pay $5 for. So please, if anyone reading this 1 starred the game, please go back and give it a truthful/honest review that it deserves. Remember these devs have been working on this game for so many months of their lives, then its all thrown away because a generous act of kindness backfired and angered too many people. And people who haven't reviewed, please try to make an effort to leave a review. I left a 5 starrie. I hope it can undo the 1 starrers because that is seriously so callous. Game ratings are so neglected. It's rarely about quality of game anymore. It's about anything but. Sales/crashes/price/and other random crap. Snake Eater Well-Known Member Jun 23, 2011 223 0 0 #11 Snake Eater, Jun 26, 2012 Those who spent $5 have every right to rate this app 1 star and probably should. The producer of the app should have done a little research before releasing an app and they got FRONT PAGE press and they still complain. Then people were duped into thinking the $3 app was some "deal" only for it to got free hours later. Give me a break. I think the game is fine, nice art style, way too short, but they deserve a 1/5 for the way they handleded this mess. stlredbird Well-Known Member May 21, 2009 1,354 0 36 #12 stlredbird, Jun 26, 2012 I was going to rate it 4 stars but now I'll rate it 5 to help offset all the sour grapes. They were made for quality of the game. But of course they are going to be neglected and used to abuse/punish the developers instead. How the hell is it the devs fault? Are you seriousy that ignorant? People, like myself, paid $5 out of choice. No one forced us. You cannot possibly blame the devs for a choice you made yourself. If you like the game you should want to spend some money supporting the developer. Do you expect the developer to work out of charity? To please you? I'm assuming your quite young, maybe when you grow up and get a job you'll see what it's like working for money, and how you'd feel if you worked months on end, waiting for your big paycheck, then the boss tells you "oh nah..actually you can just work for free". Because that's excacrly what it would be equivalent to if the devs released this game for free so that you wouldn't have paid for it, and got it for free. Next time, if your not 100% on a game, don't buy it. Just be patient and wait for a sale then. You have no right at all to complain. Would you pay $10 a pizza, eat it, then a week later be furious at pizza hut for having a sale on their pizza to $5 for a day? No.myou buy, you consume. And you move on.
