Hi all, I have 2 things to mention today. First off, Battle Shock sales are tracking towards the top of the charts. We hit the Top 100 for both Arcade and Strategy games in the past few days. In Arcade, Battle Shock moved from #85 to #80. In Strategy, Battle Shock has moved from #37 to #35. T And just to let you know, we're prepping our first update for submission either tonight or tomorrow. This update will include: * turning off damage to castle from plasma ball * updated graphics * high scores Our current plans for the next update will be: * leaderboards * levels of difficulty * endless play Thanks to everyone who has purchased the game so far! Battle Shock v1.1 Just wanted to let everyone know the first update has been submitted to Apple. This update includes High Scores and improved graphics. We've also tweaked the gameplay a little and turned off friendly fire. Plasma ball will no longer damage the castle. There's a lot more features coming too. Impressions I'm not a big fan of Castle Defense games, but I've been playing this a lot. It's a good pick up and play title. The graphics won't knock yours socks off, but the animations are smooth and the variety of enemies- and the way they are introduced- are nice. You can vary your strategy from game-to-game, going all magic one time, or starting all archers the next. The board also changes from game-to-game, with the trees/brush appearing in different spots. I don't know how deep it runs- I haven't gotten to Wave 30 yet- but I hear unlimited gameplay is also coming in the future. Playing through a game goes pretty quick, and you earn your currency by wiping enemies out. I would like to see some additional magical options, or maybe some sort of catapult from inside the walls just to spice things up. But the game is pretty solid where it stands now. Graphical improvements are coming in the next update, and I can't wait to see the difference. At 99 cents, this is certainly worthy of a buy. Fast, frantic and fun!
...ooo, those graphics do look a lot better...cool to see the grass is now less primary green and yay, no more friendly fire
Thanks for the update! Will be keeping a look out for that. Thank goodness you took out Friendly Fire, I was doing more damage to myself than than the enemy was doing to me with that.

This is a really fun game...if you're even near the edge on this one, just do yourself a favor and make the purchase!
Battle Shock is Superb Game!!!!! This is a Superb take on Castle Defense and it is definitely my type of game! Not only does it look great, but it is fun and easy to play! It allows you to unleash your inner wizard and protect your castle with your migthy powers of magic! I love how you can flick the plasma ball in any direction to fry an enemy. Another nice touch to the plasma ball is that you can flick it fast or slow making the ball more fast or slow. It doesnt do anything, but it is cool to see. The Archers on the castle wall that are assisting you are a real help as they can be very effective. I have progressed nicely through the levels and can say that there is a great variety of enemies including Catapults! I also like how you can pause and upgrade at any time during the game. Since High Scores, Achievements, Leaderboards, endless play, and level of difficulty are going to be implented in updates, I dont have any complaints about the game. I do have some ideas though. Ideas: The slower a plasma ball moves, the more powerful it becomes. If you plan on adding an attack, how about a lightning attack that you can string together by draggin with you finger over mulitple enemies or by tapping on an enmey. Maybe you can add some more levels to the upgrades to make them more powerful. This is a really good game, at 99 cents it is well worth getting.
The suggested attack that you mentioned is very similar to one that was in the original design. Our first priority is on increasing the replay value, i.e. exactly what you mentioned earlier with leaderboards, achievements, etc... New weapons and enemies are planned. Since we're starting to get a substantial install base, it's important that we address achievements and leaderboards first. This will help keep the existing game interesting to those that have already invested their time in it. Then the new weapons and enemies will follow suit. Thanks again for your feedback. I was happy that the update came out and wanted to upgrade, but unfortunately it is only for OS 3.0! I was really looking forward to the improvements in this update, but I guess I will have to update soon!
Sorry about that. I'm going to resubmit the build compiled on an earlier version. This shouldn't be a problem, just a matter of how quick Apple approves it.
Yay for the highscores. My highest is wave 53 currently. Great game, do you have plans for global leaderboards?
