Great game! Many thanks for the code, this is a fun game! Either this game is easier than similar ones, or I must be doing something right, I made it to wave 53 on my first game. I much prefer the flick/tap to shoot games to just dropping turrets/etc, it makes me feel more like part of the game. I would easily recommend this game for $0.99. I liked the graphical style, the music and the sounds. I wish there was a bit more variety in sounds - at least more differing sounds for different enemy units, and a few different sounds for the generic dudes would be cool. I really like how the pause menu is set up, I found myself pausing and buying things as soon as I had the money for them. Often I tried clicking on the fountain to un-pause, and once and a while I was tempted to click the home button, but everything is good. Two things that confused me when I first encountered them were: 1) Archers say to click on the bullseye to purchase/upgrade. Once you purchase one, the bullseye gets replaced by an archer, at first I thought I had to buy them all before I could upgrade them (Monopoly - houses, etc.) Also, it would be nice to see their health bars here, not sure if upgrading an archer replenishes their health or not (if it does, would make sense to upgrade the wounded ones, if not, then better to let them die and re-purchase...) 2) I didn't realize you had to purchase the touch-hold and multi-tap the wall attacks, I was trying to use them early in the game until I figured out I had to purchase them (not just upgrade them.) Some sort of online scoring system would add to the longevity of this game. Otherwise, everything rocks. I'm really enjoying this game! 4 stars.
The game got a little bit easier once friendly fire was disabled. However, we're actively working on the next update which will include levels of difficulty. There's also an endless play mode that will get progressively harder. I've got leaderboards functioning in the current build (unreleased as of yet ), so that's coming too. I'm glad your enjoying the game so far. Stick with us. The next update will be our first significant update. Regards, Fletch_LunaSeaGames
New Battle Shock Gameplay video Hi all, I've just posted a new video of Battle Shock v1.2. It's better quality than the last video. Check it out! On another note, we had to resubmit the Lite version. I'm hoping it will go live later next week. BTW - PM me if you're interested in a promo code. I still have a few I can hand out. Regards, Fletch_LunaseaGames
So I'm currently on my third playthrough. This is a fun game! I saved it in the middle of a game- I beat the 100 waves and started over with upgrades. I have to say, it's a lot of fun frying the early guys with souped up weapons the second time through! A few things I'd like to see: - an option to heal the archers - larger boss-like creatures every 25 waves or so - maybe elephant riders or something like that would fit the game's aesthetic? - maybe a 2-finger attack- something like chain lightning between two fingers? You could hold the first finger and then tap the second and have a chain bolt between the two - multi touch for the plasma balls and the wide range attack- mix and match a wide attack with one finger and shoot plasma balls with the other. Or just double barrel plasma shots. Of course this would probably beg for further levels of plasma reserve upgrade - another last-resort type attack could be shaking the phone to cause an earthquake- this could wipe out the wave but also cause massive damage to the castle. all in all, a great game, really fun. also, was that the Wilhelm Scream I heard when my archers died? Nice! Thanks again for the code! I'll write an iTunes review later tonight or tomorrow.
You've got some good ideas here! There's going to be a lot of added replay value with this next update coming including level of difficulty. Thanks for the feedback, Fletch_LunaSeaGames
Great game. Very unique use of "battle shocks" and I like the presentation. Just got Defender chronicles and I have to say, I probably prefer this.
Just got to play it a little. I love how you can upgrade in the middle of the round. There was one point where a bunch were getting really close to my castle, so i upgraded one of the weapons and got'em all Ability to flick in any discretion, even down and sideways, is a big plus. Have to play it more to come up with any improvements, but so far i love what i see.
Not a bad game here. Gameplay is friendly so you'll have no issues getting right into it. Spells are upgradable and easy to use. There are also archers in the game that will aid you in battle, which are upgradable as well. In game music fits the game quite well. Looking forward to more content. And runs well on my 1gen touch.
It's important that everyone knows that you can start flicking from anywhere on the screen in any direction. I just saw a gameplay video from someone yesterday where knights got all the way to the castle walls and he was trying to flick right on top of the knights. This appears to be a common misconception of how the game is played. Thank you for pointing that out Now all I need to do is figure out how to convey that in the game. I'll make sure to reword some of the help at the very least. Thanks for the feedback!
Our goal was to make the game run a solid 60hz. There are a couple levels that don't run at a solid 60, but the majority of the game should run very smoothly without any hiccups.
I posted a review but really the only thing I would like to see would be multi touch for the plasma balls and the wide range thing. I also thought of that energy chain attack Jebus mentioned, that would be cool.
Yeah, like you could have a finger on each side of the screen and a bolt between them, then drag both fingers up the screen and slice the enemies in half. Or leave one finger stationary and move the other one back and forth like a guillotine. That would definitely be cool. Or maybe even 3 or even 4 fingers to create a shape that would be filled in with plasma- like a variant on the "hold finger down" area attack. You could even incorporate this with the chain lightning one. Make the first upgrade 2 fingers (chain lightning), the second 3 fingers (triangle of death), and the third 4 fingers (quadrilateral of death!!). holding down the fingers continuously shocks the area, tapping shoots out chain lightning. And I also was thinking the plasma balls had to originate from the castle at the start. It definitely wasn't clear to me that you could flick from anywhere on the screen towards anywhere else- I was patiently waiting for the guys to come out from behind the trees, not realizing I could just blast them from behind. Once I got that it was even more fun.
We've been talking about new kinds of spells to add. I got sidetracked for a week working on the Lite version, but our focus is back on finishing up this first major update that really expands the gameplay with difficulty levels, endless play, and leaderboard support. It will be the following update where we start adding new attacks and new enemies. There have been a ton of great ideas and I can't wait to try some of them out. Regards, Fletch
