Haha, no I meant it's cliche in the sense that you don't even need to mention Uematsu because everyone knows he's a video game music god. I can't speak for Chinese/Korean games, but I can definately agree that Japanese games take a different, and I think better, route when it comes to the music. Whenever a new FF game comes out, not only is the gameplay talked about, themusic and who is doing it is also a big part of the discussion. As far as I know, nobody cares who is doing the soundtrack to Halo or Gears of War, etc.
Again? What? And did you notice I said one of the greatest? I'd love to see someone challenge this, because I did not say he was the greatest; I merely said he was a master composer. If you haven't got any comebacks just keep quiet.
It doesn't change the fact you're a fanboy for any game related made by an Asian. And yes I said again. You do it all the time. Seems like you're the only one who doesn't realize it. Bigotist.
Lol me, a bigotist? Go fetch me one example of me attacking someone else's opinion without any good evidence or argument. You sound like the bigotist here for saying I'm a bigotist. I don't even know who the hell you are, and you just decide to come into this thread for the purpose of attacking my posts. And what's wrong with liking things Asian? I'm Chinese, why wouldn't I like Asian things? Got a problem with that? Go cry some more.
Aurora constantly criticizes people for bad spelling/grammar, and yet makes up the word "bigotist". I was hoping he would realize that he isn't as knowledgeable as he tends to act towards others. All the time.
Honestly, there is certain battle music in the Pokemon series that I will just listen to over and over. Dunno which though. I know that some is the Elite Four themes. Castlevania theme Sonic 2 - Chemical Plant Zone and Special Stage But I don't play a large variety of games.
Alright Aurora, first of all you need to realize you sound ridiculous when you call someone a bigotist. It's not a word. And second, we get it alright. If Asia was a person you'd take it out to a nice dinner then make love to her all night. And if she didn't comply, you'd date rape her. You just don't have to stuff your ASIA!! ^.^ opinion down our throats.
The 8-bit Nippon-pop songs from Katamari Damacy are the coolest video game music ever, expecially "Lonely Rolling Star" from the first game and "Houston" and "Disco Prince" from We Heart Katamari. Drop-dead writing and arranging, extreme harmonic sophistication, and a great sense of humor, too. My iPod is full of that stuff.
Clearly most of the people here are too young to have experienced the true classics Ladies and gentlemen - I give you the ultimate, indisputable king of all videogame melodies. The theme from Bubble Bobble.
