I keep shilling for a good table tennis game. Nope, not out yet but twitter, facebook, what else should I use to try and get a talented dev to make a realist table tennis game that caters to league players, not pub players?
What about Mini Pingpong? @shigzeo: Have you tried Mini Pingpong? It's currently $0.99 US - here's the website: http://www.unjp.co.jp/games/mPingPong.html I've been tempted to try it, but already have Table Tennis Star and iPingPong 3D... I have to agree with your assessment about the current table tennis games - while fun, not a true simulation of the sport. It's a pity too, as I think the device is well suited for a better simulation of the sport Edit: Well, I took the plunge and bought the game a couple of days ago - it's a well made table tennis game that has a different perspective to all the others (it uses a top down view) and it controls like the other two I have, ie. you control your paddle via the touch screen. It seems easier to make shots in this game - I've managed to do both smashes (fore/back hand) quite easily, but it's also easy to make a rash shot (eg. smash the ball off the table ). You also have more control over your serve, although I haven't worked out how to do a serve that's hard to return... The more I play it, the more I like it - well worth the asking price
Yeah world cup ping pong is awesome, and the most addictive 3D pong game on my iPod. It has different modes including a tournament mode where you pick a country to play for and face off against the others.
After a month I have finally bought World Cup Ping Pong. Mainly because I enjoyed the lite version and the full version had a price drop. I've played with it and I highly recommend it. The controls work well, the music and SFX are great and the game play is addictive! It also has 4 modes (Tournament, Arcade, Head To Head and Practice) so there is a lot of content for a Ping Pong game. The graphics are also pretty good and the frame rate is smooooooth. The only thing I don't like about the game is the black backdrop in the background it would be better if it looked like you were in an arena with crowds of people. Overall though World Cup Ping Pong is excellent and is a steal at $0.99 and would be well worth $1.99.
Yep, I agree. I've had ipingpong 3d for ages, but never play it. With the recent drop I bought World Cup Ping Pong and think it's great.
World Cup TT absolutely rocks. Many different paddles and opportunities to earn them. WCTT does not nickel and dime you to death. Another Great ping pong game is Slam And Spin ping pong very intuitive.
I tried out World Cup Table Tennis lite version and am having some control lags. My paddle lags or just plain freezes quite enough times to make the game really frustrating to play.. Probably I should try to restart my iPod touch to see if it helps...but don't want to buy the full version if it lags for me. I just tried Virtual Table Tennis 3 too and found it pretty good in the limited time I spent with it. I quite like the feel of this game. The main thing is there's some IAP for things like removing ads and "unlimited energy" (even though I'm not sure where that's used). Looks like you can buy new bats with with in game coins..but I can't figure out how to earn those coins without spending real money. Anyways..I still quite like the feel of this game so we'll see. But didn't know this thread even existed. As an aside, my company bought a table tennis table and a few cheap paddles. I've never played table tennis before and started playing and found it quite fun. A lot of people in my company knows how to play and some of them helps "coaching/training" a few of us. Recently some of the beginners, including me, bought out own premade paddles cause we like the game a lot. Fun stuff. The hardest part for us is returning others spinning serves, especially those crazy side spins! ;-P Anyways, sorry for the side track story. I've enjoyed playing real table tennis so much, so when I saw this thread pop up, I started looking at these games and was excited to try some.
I've always liked ping pong since I was a kid ( many, many years ago) and I quite enjoy Virtual Table Tennis 3. Never needed to buy any of the IAP and am still very competitive. There are so many ping pong games these days it's hard to tell which one to get, and since I've played a handful of 'em, this one gets my vote. As far a I know, the 'World Cup Ping Pong' doesn't exist in he US store. It's called World Cup Table Tennis here, and Table Tennis Star isn't available at all. IMO, Slam and Spin is just terrible! VTT3 is definitely happening and WCTT is quite good, too. I'd go with one of those for sure!
I must humbly disagree. I think slam and spin is so nice. I think it would be the best if there were tournaments. It's personal preference but what don't you like about it. IMHO Vtt3 is fun, but no matter what paddle you use, putting spin is almost non-existent Edit. Maybe you didn't try past the novice? The novice category does bite. Expert is fast as it should be
