    halo 3 is another favorite

    EDIT:

For PS3 Motorstorm 1 is REALLY good off-road racing.
Also Motorstorm Pacific Riff is part 2.

btw should i get a ps3 or xbox-xbox seems to be an altogether more polished console for the masses while ps3 seems to be the more expensive one with slightly better games.

I think you should stick with an xbox, but it really depends on what games you like.

Personally, I've always loved Guitar Hero and Rock Band games. They're great party/family games and there are lots of songs to play, so everyone can have fun with it. If you can't decide between which of the GH/RB games you want (if you only want to pick one), I can help you decide.

Guitar Hero: World Tour has an all right setlist, but it's very easy. There are lots of songs (86, I believe), but few available on the music store. You can play guitar, bass, drums or vocals.

Guitar Hero III has a fantastic setlist, and it's very challenging - probably the toughest of the rhythm games. It has some great song packs available to download, but not many. You can only play bass or guitar on this one, but I still highly recommend it.

Rock Band 2 is definitely my favorite of all (with GHIII coming in second). The setlist is perfect and the music store has hundreds of extra songs available. You're sure to find some of your favorite songs on the music store and the 80+ songs from the setlist. When you buy the game, there is a code on the back of the game manual you can use to download 20 free songs, so basically it has over 100 setlist songs to choose from. You can play guitar, bass, drums or vocals on this game. Overall it's my favorite because of the graphics and the great songs.

I'm not even sure if you're interested in these games, but I really am, so I thought I'd share my opinions on them :) At first, they're a little confusing if you've never played one of them before, but after you get the hang of it, you'll have a blast.

    Hope that helps

X360 if you want to play live multiplayer, more games.
PS3 if you want to watch BluRay DVDs

There are a few exclusives.. but most games play the same on both.
I would get the X360 before the PS3.

I sold COD4, GOW 2, etc; I dont really play shooters anymore.

I now have Skate 2 (obviously a skating game), Stoked (sick snowboarding game), Sacred 2 (Diablo-style hack n' slash RPG), and Left 4 Dead (more of a play w/ friends @ midnight game). I love Sacred 2, I was a huge fan of Diablo II and Sacred 1.

Games that Im looking forward to on the 360:
    Mass Effect 2
MAYBE CoD Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2 (I hate the online little kids)
Red Dead Redemption (GTA IV but in the wild west!)
    Dirt 2 (driving simulator)
    Assassins Creed 2

These are a blend of old and new games which I enjoyed...so take it for what it's worth.

Not necessarily exclusives for the 360, but some are:

Mass Effect, ME2 is coming soon.
Bioshock, Bioshock 2 is coming soon as well
Gears of War and Gears of War 2
Crackdown, and the to-be-released APB by the same developers
    Alan Wake (announcing at E3)
    Splinter Cell: Double Agent
    The Darkness
Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
    Resident Evil 5
    GTA4 + 3 DLC episodes exclusive to Xbox 360
    Fallout 3
    Dead Space
    Assassin's Creed, AC2 coming soon.
Prototype -- coming soon, looks great

Why you might want to buy a PS3:
    MGS4
    inFamous
    Uncharted
    Uncharted 2 (coming soon)
    Killzone 2
    Resistance
    Resistance 2
    + The usual

Huh? Consoles are not like the app store.. there are no good unknown games. There are some that did not sell as well but all good games get reviewed.

hey- fp on this board. if you are going with the 360 and want something different. i would recommend katamari damacy. bioshock was great. fallout 3, and i am currently very hooked on left 4 dead.

not sure about posting outside links here, but check the slickdeals site. they have a link and coupon for dell selling an elite game of the year bundle (120 gb hd, halo3, fable 2) for 340 plus tax. very worth it in my book. just picked one up (even though dell's site said temp out of stock) rec'd in less than 2 days.

also when you sign up initially on live only choose the silver package. they will give you a month of gold for free.

what type of games are you into? i can make some other suggestions

if your more into kinda social talk to your friends while you play a bit then go for the 360 but if you want some hardcore gamedge then go with the ps3..i personally have the 360 cause i really dont get into those games, i just play when my friends are on live...(cod4 all the way)

and as for games that are unkown i would go with crack down, its pretty much gta except opposite sides, your a cop trying to stop gangs and such..
