@Acumen: Yeah, I will post some assests and snippets here when I am finished. I like to share.

@boo7600: Thanks very much. Like I said before, I already have a lot of code to work with, and my workflow and pipeline is pretty mature and streamlined. So development is pretty quick.

Just working on the menu background at the moment. Will post it here soon.

Made the menu background today. I am pretty pleased with it.

Gosh, I hope this will be your last 7 day challenge.
Kinda frustrating to see this popping up in such a short time frame, offering a very polished and stylized environment and character art.

Would it be possible for you to post some screenshots in here ?
I always like to keep interesting things, games and projects in my inspiration folder and this clearly belongs into that !
Once again, brilliant work - running slowly out of positive words ;)

Looks great, maybe you should have made this into a full fledged game with varied level design, obstacles, abilities and enemies. I like the mini Metroidvania levels (slightly smaller than Robot Wants Kitty)you collect stars in.

Agree 100% about the time challenge threads.
But yes this one does look pretty sweet.

However, my big concern when I see the time challenge thing is, will that be enough to make great levels. I know on our current game even with most of the assets complete just laying out 1 level can take over a week.

My point is this looks like a great game and there is probably a lot of time and money invested. Don't waste it's potential by rushing just to meet a deadline.
Take your time. It looks like it will be worth it.

    Hi there
    Thanks for the replies.
Yeah, I made the basic game in 7 days, but now I am taking the time to tweak the levels and add a lot of polish. Adding OpenFeint support is taking longer than expected too (a tiny problem interfacing it with my pure C++ engine).
I also spent way too long redoing the animation system. It now uses a sophisticated keyframe based articulated figure with smooth Catmull-Rom interpolation. I also made a complete editor for it too. However, the end result looks almost indistinguishable from the original hard coded animations :) haha!
But I dont regret it. It will come in very handy in the future, especially for 'Glade'.
Anyway, I hope to submit the app sometime this week. Thanks again for everyone's interest and patience.

Here are a couple of recent screenshots:

Thank you so much for the screens.
Now that I finally got a device on my own, I'm looking forward to supporting this project.

I know I sound all fanboyish, but I'm always impressed when one person manages to pull something off that is THAT epic and polished.
Well derserved praise on your side !
Be sure to selfpat your back :)

    Hi all,
Here is the latest video. It shows some debug information I have to help me test the levels. It's almost cool enough to add as a feature :D

I am very close to finishing now. Just tidying up levels and need to add a bit of sound.

Molly and Filbette are good suggestions. However, I have already gone for the name Matilda. My daughter chose it :)
And thank you Society for the praise. My head is swelling as I write this. OW!

I have finally finished the game. It took a lot longer than expected, to polish the levels, integrate openfeint and get the music and sounds sorted, but I got there in the end.

I will be submitting the game in the next few days. So now it's time to get down with the marketing. Gulp!
Does anyone have any ideas about how I can market this game?
I have got one idea planned already. And I am giving an interview to AppVader soon. I will post a link here when it is online.

I'm open to marketing suggestions. And I will gladly give a free copy of the game to anyone who can get the word out about it in a large meaningful way.
I really like what the Jelly Defense guys did for marketing. (I won a Tshirt from the by the way. hehe)

Anyway, thanks again for all the support from you guys. It makes me feel warm in my special place. ;)

I always love to hear kind words

Just to let you know, I have sent out a call to arms. I am building an army, a dream team. It will be much more than just a team of playtesters. It will be a community. More information here

Dodger has already joined. Thanks mate. I will be sending you the game soon.

Also, I will begin making another game soon. It will be a turn-based strategy game involving zombies. I won't do it as a 7 day challenge, but I do hope to make rapid prograss. Stay tuned.

Folks, think of what he can do if he had just a bit more time.
This is one developer you won't want to miss.
