Awesome game -- to me. It's got some quirks, but most of the camera issues are no longer present and even prior to fixes, it worked fine once you got used to it. Great runner/flyer that once you get used to the gameplay it just gets more and more incredible with bosses, train crashes .... basically a demonic action movie chase scene. But to each their own.... It's free so give it a shot. And, honestly, I think it takes multiple plays to get used to it and then, perhaps, you'll be as addicted as I have been to the game. All you can see is the main characters back. Kinda hard to make precise jumps when you can't see where you are going clearly. Why not just raise the camera a bit? At least give us the option to adjust the camera height ourselves. I can live with the weird shifting gameplay camera angles, but the low, directly behind the guy player cam, is as close to a deal breaker as you can get. Ok for free but I would have really been disappointed had I paid $3 for this in it's current form... Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 3 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #10 Exact-Psience, Oct 2, 2012 Yeah... This. I was one of those who complained about the camera angle when i played it and after a few games i got more accustomed to it. After a few more runs it came natural to me and the view never bothered me once. The update that zooms the game out a little while in the air was definitely an improvement that makes calculating your landing easier than before. Right now, i only have 3 titles in mind that can be my candidates for GotW and these are Bastion, TWEWY and Blood Roofs. Horn and Lili are close, but i need more playtime with them before i could make a decision. So with that said, i highly recommend this game. For me, this looked pretty mediocre when i first started mostly because of the camera angle, but it quickly turned into one of the best experiences ive had in iOS gaming. For anyone trying this, save your coins to get permanent wings. Once you get up to the 3-flap max, it makes landing soooo much easier and it may make all the difference in the world in how you feel about the game (the camera, for instance, becomes less of an issue). Drummerboycroy Well-Known Member Apr 2, 2012 4,172 0 36 Clinician Maine! #13 Drummerboycroy, Oct 2, 2012 Honest question here, and I realize the potential for it to be taken as provocative... About how much grinding is attaining the "3-flap-max" going to take? I just did 6-7 runs, and they weren't all that enjoyable, or long. As has been stated already, the camera is not my friend, so if the wings help, I'm wondering how long I'm going to have to hang in there before this gets enjoyable... I should say, the game itself is gorgeous. I'm fairly certain I would enjoy it if I lasted more than 30 seconds... This is going to take a minute. DBC awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #16 awp69, Oct 2, 2012 ^^ Yes, definately go for the gold coins (or basically any coin that's sitting by itself or dropped when an enemy is killed). If there's a chance to get a single gold coin over a row of coins, ignore the row (they're usually worth only 1 each). Also, if you can destroy those orange orb things one of the power-ups they sometimes give is an additional wing flap (not permanent but will help get further in your current session). It takes some getting used to regardless. But you should be able to make it to at least the first boss even without a wing upgrade. It took me a while to start scoring a decent number of coins, but once I started to, it didn't take me that long to get the unlocks. Get the wings first...then save up for the mermaid character (can't remember her name), she is much stronger with electric shocks that obliterate most enemies within a certain distance. Check the main tread for more tips. Just couldn't avoid wanting to help a newbie....it really is a great game.
