Perfect logic: I own an iPhone 4, but I am against the idea of dropping off older device support.. in favor of?
If you want console quality games, play a console. Gameloft is a business with the objective to make money. Like I said previously, most people aren't going to spend ~$20 for a cell phone game. How long do you think it takes to develop console quality games, that would actually be worth the cost of $20 - on the Appstore? People complain about $.99 games not having enough content and free updates... The length of develoment time involved directly relates to the production costs, and they would be quite large. If they have to sell at $20 to make money, then there is significant risk of not selling enough quanity to recoup that development cost, and - make a profit. As much as some people would love them, a whole lot more would see a $20 price tag and move along.
Woah woah woah... I thought this was Burger King. Nothing makes any sense to me anymore. Un related question- Acidshaman- did you ever get dropped as a child?
What do PSP/DS games sell for? edit: cant the kids Marcus is making fun of in the PSP commercials afford the $40 game? Obviously Sony feels like they need to call out the iPhone/touch... so if there isnt a market why would the company care? Simple.
You said that you had a 2nd gen iPod touch... And an iPad. You don't have an iPhone 4. Stop changing your statements.
This thread is still going on...? Some people need some friends You know I looked through Gameloft's list and I haven't seen any $10 games. Feel free to boycott them! But hey you could always buy the $6.99 games, it's cheaper! Anyway, last time I'm looking in on this thread, it's meaningless
Here are common misunderstandings of the iPad: Is the iPad HD? Not really, however the screen is high resolution at 136? Ppi... Will it get retina? No, it couldn't. to expect otherwise is Assinine. Here's why: to have 326ppi on a screen this size would be extremely cost prohibitive and doesn't even exist. That would give the iPad a better quality screen than the 27 in newly released Mac. It would also exceed the impossible of higher resolution than 1080p, which isn't possible. Apple doesn't sell 1080p movies in the AppStore and could you imagine how bad a 1080p movie would look on a screen that has a better than resolution? Plus, the processors available today couldn't power that intensive type of screen nor can they push that many pixels. Nor could a battery handle that... Does it need the 512 ram? Debateable, as you aren't testing and receiving calls at the same time so that memory would be negligible, but helpful in a game like epic citadel in better texture resolution and such, however the resolution differences are marginal and iPad looks great. So retina won't be arriving in iPhone standard anytime soon on iPad
Aight im sorry but you guys are retarded and I hope no one seriously puts any credit into what you say, THE GUY WITH AN IPHONE 4 SAID THAT MY LOGIC IS BAD, SO IM USING HIS PERSPECTIVE??? My stock went from $140 to $288, im sure ud take the ~2 grand I earned seriously and if my ipad has an A4 chip why should I buy a PSP
Aww... <3 *Insert needle and.... Much better. But now I see acidshaman's point. And a pink jackalope.
wootbean is the iphone 4 guy, why dont u just tell me about how you didnt read anything more than half-assed and have been carelessly replying, while I am TRYING to voice an opinion so we dont keep seeing these ugly ass games.. U think id ever put a gameloft game on my ipad? The HD ones are ugly. And woot, if the iPhone isnt for you then why list it as yours? If you dont even support the stance of an iPhone 4 owner.. I can only control myself and voice my reasons, let even the iPhone 4 users shoot me down.. (a big wtf moment of the night)..
For the person who stated that people would see a price tag and move along, or that it would be cost prohibitive... Apple has begun, by their own admission to move into the gaming markets dominated by consoles and handhelds. At what point does the market shift and allow for new and better experiences? Those may come at a cost, however, with gameloft raking in over 20 million in revenue, they can afford to test the water. Again, is it not feasible that because gamelodft are a branch of Ubisoft, they would have the potential to utilize the already licensed to Ubisoft unreal 3 engine? I expect more from capcom, EA, Sega and Squareenix/soft as well... So my ire is not just with one party. Why does everyone seem to discredit what is possible and settle for less? Why do you not want gameloft to raise the stakes? The A4 turns these things into near consoles on par with non3d 3ds' but I want Top notch on my iPad. I don't want to shop with Sony or Nintendo, by telling me to procure the competitions devices, you do a disservice to Apple and the AppStore, by sending the competition a customer? Why is that even acceptable? We as gamers should not have to look elsewhere when the capability to equal the competition exists on my device
