~$10, happy now? Im complaining that the cutting edge technology is running dollar games. And that everyone is ANGRILY RAGED if I even suggest that we see some real games? This 'Project Sword' game is all weve heard about, but is any of this stuff going to even compete with 3DS games? I cant afford every device..
Then Shut the **** up with your Bullshit. If you dont want to pay "10$" go right ahead and buy the same game on your Playstation Portable for "40$" or just be a damn pirate/download the lite(I dont support piracy). Case Closed.
just agreeing that people pay for tacky crap like they always do.. piracy hurts my apple shares? Why would I support that? and I dont want a PSP or even a 3DS I want an iPod touch, but it seems like its awesomeness is getting shelved... why cant we see $40 games with barrels of content? Just like my computer, I got WoW, SC2 installed. they take up all the space on my computer for games.. I only need those 2 games
Street Fighter 4 new characters like every month....Call of Duty Zombies...GTA:CW....Phoenix Wright....Sonic...Scrabble....Carnivores..Tetris...Crimson Gem Saga...Sims... Happy?
Guys, stop arguing with this kid. He's probably frothing at his keyboard and contemplating something extreme, like making a video of him punching a wall.
Scrabble... lol CoD Zombies costs $20 (i think thats right) for two maps? And how old is that game?? SF4 is probably not going to be seeing TOO many more characters, because they quoted device space as the issue.. unless they lied ive been thinking about checking this out, but its still a stupid cell-phone game on a freaking super-computer in your hands..
First off, I myself, am not here to troll. Nor to flame. I had never posted in the forum, however, I felt this topic warranted my attention. I am 29, a gamer and a release day iPad owner (also g1 iPod touch)... To give my 2 cents regarding this topic: to preface those that state that the ios device lines are not gaming machines, should refer to the Apple ipod 2010 keynote. Steve Jobs, himself threw Apple into the core gaming foray, by claiming the numbers of iPod touches and iPhones as gaming devices. He even mentioned Sony and Nintendo by name. Regarding Gameloft: I own Lets Golf HD, Avatar HD, Iron Man 2 HD, GT Racing Academy HD, NOVA HD, Dungeon Hunter HD, Zombie Infection HD, Castle Of Magic and Oregon Trail (iPhone). To delve into depth, as a gamer who rather enjoys the unique ways to play on the iPad I have been let down by Gameloft games. Yes, they are a French Company (founded and owned by the CEOs of Ubisoft) - more on that in a sec - the. Issue with Gameloft, I believe stems from an insistence to pander to more masses, vs. True quality and consistency. The quality issue stems from wanting to cater to the largest audience possible. I applaud this to some extent, only because at the 10$ or less price, they are able to recoup a profit...the problem is, as Apple rolls the A4 processor into the ios device lineup, the devices become more capable. If you own an iPad, iPhone 4 or the new ipod touch, how long would you be willing to accept less than acceptable graphics and performance? By catering to the old devices, the final product is often one which looks like a PS1/PS2 title. Where the A4 leaves the newer demographic at odds, is their gaming needs are scLed back and have become complacent and accepting of less than acceptable gaming experiences. People have made excuses for the lack of quality by setting the bar low. The naysayers say a game cannot charge $20 or more for a great looking/performing game, at the indie devs have to sell cheap, people won't pay, etc, etc, etc...well, if I spend 60$ on Dragon Age for my 360 then I'd Gladly pay 20$ or more for comparable experience on my iPad. Now, ubisoft and gameloft are tied very close and are owned the the same company heads. Ubisoft is an Unreal 3 engine licensee. Therefore I do not see how, after Epics reveal of that engine as well as epic sword, that Gameloft (same company basically as ubisoft) could not implement that engine and polish a product and sell for more. Imagine NOVA with unreal 3 engine or Modern Combat with the unreal 3 engine, those games would be completely different experiences, that I for one, would be willing to pay for. Instead gameloft sets the par for one size fits all and therefore the new devices and prospective gamers suffer for it. I get excited seeing the previews of their games, however, end up disappointed in the final products (blocky hands, etc) I lastly, will say that yes gameloft are not showing their true potential. The core of their games have nice framework but the polish is severely lacking mainly because the A4 can't be tapped because of people with old devices. I would love to see them use ubisoft leverage and utilize the unreal 3 engine. Allow their games shine. I know this post is disjointed and splintered...too many thoughts and a lot to cover while typing this on the ipad... Final thought: unreal 3 can run modified version of their 360 cousins ( arkham asylum, gears of war, etc) on the ios, from capps and reins own mouths, so basically with the major game developers and gameloft (most console knock off) why not shoot for the moon and make a game truly worthy of the technological standards of 2010.
I thought you didn't mind the price so why point out it costs $20. And why does it matter how old a game is? You can get new games if thats your style, they come out every day you know. Who are you to decide what a stupid cell phone game is if you havn't even checked it out? Just some of the many contradictions you have made.
I was thinking the exact same thing... BTW, this thread is an Epic Win. *50 experience points awarded.
