Is it OK to bump threads just for the sake of bumping them? Here's an example of what I am talking about: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=70672 If it was just this one app, it wouldn't be a big deal, but this guy is trying to unload give away promo codes for a bunch of his one-star "games," and is bumping all his threads to the top of the forum. In one of his threads he writes something like "only 50 codes left!" That's gonna be a lot of bumping before those codes are gone! I'm not complaining , I am just wondering if it is OK to bump threads like this... (Oh...and before anyone suggests it: I DO realize I have the option of NOT reading the thread if it bothers me...)
Bump. ...just kidding. Yeah that's kind of annoying. I'd say once per day would be acceptable providing people were actually replying to the topic... but he's just talking to himself.
How do you know it's crappy? Have you played it? Give the guy a chance. What if you were an aspiring game developer who wanted to get themselves out there in the same situation?
Hey, I'm giving my opinion as a potential customer. If I were a developer, I'd want to know what potential customers thought about my game. I'd want to know if I was wasting my time.
Spam is spam. The quality of the product doesn't mean anything. If an Apple employee burst in and started spamming Macbook ads all over the place, aside from being amused, we'd want them deleted.
I once had a bumo, it took weeks of medical treatments for it to go down. It still hurts when I cough.
