it's not porn...all of the photos are bikinis or underwear. They are only slightly suggestive...we worked closely with apple to keep it as PG-13 as possible.

Re: Charity stuff - You might get away with it for a couple of days... Just be careful. Even being listed in the official sponsors list on that site won't be enough from what I've heard. Unless something's changed in the last month or two the official stance was you could not mention donation to a charity unless the developer account that the app belonged to was registered to that charity and the bank account for funds deposits from Apple belonged to that charity.

As I said, they have no problem with you making promises on your own blog, here on TA, anywhere as long as it's not in iTunes. Seems silly, but they hold all the cards :)

These days, you get money wherever you can.

I'll probably buy the Hot Girls version... I'd rather buy this than Sexy "E" Girls!one!11

This is for a better cause!

I completely agree. I don't like the idea being used here to help donate to a worthy cause. Sex sells, I understand, but I'm sorry I'm finding this is almost offensive. It's also a little disgusting. I'm surprised it was allowed by Apple.

I understand and respect his opinion. And it's ok. I know that not everyone is going to agree with it. But, someone who purchased the app and was aware of the charity came up with the idea and emailed me asking me to do it.

They even came up with the whole...Donate 25¢ because it's 25¢ Peep Show...So I figured...why not put these apps to some good use since we were iffy about making them to begin with.

I wasn't expecting anyone to really be offended. I was just trying to do something good. Maybe I should take down the post?

ahahah oops sorry - yeah, I think I saw it on facebook

  13. I have to think there's a line that must be drawn somewhere. It just seems kind of wrong to raise money for something serious like cancer research with something salacious like these apps or the Boobie-Thon. As I said, raising money for noble causes is never a bad thing, and I applaud anyone who does so, I just think raising money for charities could be done in a more dignified manner.

Not that I'm a prude. I just think these sort of apps are cheap and degrade the App Store. (Not that the App Store isn't already filled with truckloads of crap worse than this, but still...)

Now, if such a charity donation were attached to something with some value and content, like a halfway decent game, that is something I could go for.

I can't believe people have a problem with this! If this is what it takes to get some people to donate that wouldn't nessecarily donate...so be it!

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Boobie-Thon has raised over $7000.00 for breast cancer research....how much have you raised!

So people need to chill out.

Anyone who has a problem with this hates boobies, and wants to see them die.

  17. Dramatic much?

Like I said. I'm hardly a prude. But if you were to take away the charity donation, what would make this any different from the other "sexy" apps that continually get derided and laughed off of here? I mean, this isn't even the first one styled after a coin-operated peep show.

I really have no problem with charity donations and I think anyone who does what they can to raise money for charities is doing good work, and I applaud them for that -- even Sense Field here. I don't want to give the impression that I think otherwise; I am glad to see people like this doing what they can do help out a good and worthy cause almost regardless of the methods by which they do so. (Obviously I'm not cool with people doing anything illegal to raise money; some ends don't justify the means.) I would just have rather seen something with substance and content -- something people could take a little more seriously -- used as the tool by which to do so.

Maybe this sort of app does reach an audience that may not otherwise buy an app that touts a charitable donation, and that's fine and cool. I just feel there's a bigger audience they could have reached through something with broader appeal.

I haven't been able to buy an app for a very long time so I won't be able to buy one of these, but I think it is a very nice cause. I don't care how they raise money as long as their not stealing it. They found a way to make money for a cause, so they jumped at it. Would you rather see them make a worse app that wasn't as sugguestive? And then not earn as much money for the cause? I sure wouldn't.

I would like to thank everyone who participated either by buying an app or by donating directly.

The boobie-Thon raise well over their goal!

Their goal was $10,000 and the final total raised was $13,205.00
    Blowing away last years totals!

next year I will take into consideration the comments here and will come up with an app that might have broader appeal.

Perhaps we should have used Ransom Letters this year. I only used the two that I used because they seemed like they had cross over subject matter...

For the record...the organizers love the apps...they thought it was a really cute idea :)
