Either way, I think I'll skip out on any more Kairosoft games until they include documentation that isn't spread across 50 pages with 5 words each. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #7 nightc1, Apr 16, 2013 I woke up and had the alert for this in appsfire. Nice to see a thread already. As far as I know this is the first time this game has gone $0.99. My kids just love these games so a no brainer purchase. I think there are now only two Kairosoft games on iOS hat I don't own. iPadisGreat Well-Known Member Dec 10, 2012 2,390 0 0 #8 iPadisGreat, Apr 16, 2013 The Cambridge answer is ALL. Buy them all. Especially Mega Mall Story. That one is strangely compelling. iPadisGreat Well-Known Member Dec 10, 2012 2,390 0 0 #9 iPadisGreat, Apr 16, 2013 You fell into what I dub the Dungeon Village trap. In GP story, you are not the driver, mechanic, or what not. You act as the boss of the company and you decide how to spend your funds and time: research new tech for better cars? Build another car? Recruit another driver/mechanic? Fire someone? Send your team for a tournament? Send your team for multiple races? Once you understand that you are not Nigel Mansell but rather the team principal, like Frank Williams, it all clicks. Pocketnova Well-Known Member Oct 15, 2012 2,346 0 0 #10 Pocketnova, Apr 16, 2013 I really love playing GDS on my iPod touch 1st gen.... Pity it's not universal... iPadisGreat Well-Known Member Dec 10, 2012 2,390 0 0 #11 iPadisGreat, Apr 16, 2013 Check the other thread on Pocket League Story where I posted the screenshot. Kairosoft's universal games look the same as 2x mode. The only difference is the removal of the 2x button. There will still be a black border surrounding their universal game. So if that is the only thing stopping you, grab the price dropped Kairosoft games... Pocketnova Well-Known Member Oct 15, 2012 2,346 0 0 #12 Pocketnova, Apr 16, 2013 Oh, just saw that! Thanks! Though maybe I'll grab Cafe Nipponica, because the one game ai did understand I played on my ipad. So reading the help wasn't excruciating. It would be nice if Kariosoft updated their games to be universal, but I doubt that's going to happen. I'll install a previous purchase and find out. Frankly I'm doubtful (at least on an ipad mini). Greyskull Well-Known Member Dec 13, 2009 5,587 1 38 Photographer/Social Sciences adjunct/sweet sweet l Fort Lauderdale #16 Greyskull, Apr 16, 2013 Sorry Pocketnova but what you said just isn't true, at least on an iPad mini. I just installed Beastie Bay and Pocket Academy. The text in Beastie Bay is as sharp as it could be; in Pocket Academy, the text is jagged and blurry, and would probably give me a headache if I continued playing. Therefore, if you are an iPad Mini owner, Cafe Nipponica is the way to go. Zevious Zoquis Well-Known Member Sep 20, 2010 957 0 0 Canada #17 Zevious Zoquis, Apr 16, 2013 No, theres definitely 2 or possibly 3 kairo games that are actually universal. Cafeteria N and Dungeon Village are and I think perhaps Epic Astro Story was updated too. The universal games definitely look sharper on the Ipads. However, as I said in the other thread, for me anyway its not a big enough issue to keep me from playing the other games on the Ipad. I played a ton of Mega Mall Story on my ipad2 and it was fine. The text is a little low rez of course, but it didn't bother me much... Pocketnova Well-Known Member Oct 15, 2012 2,346 0 0 #18 Pocketnova, Apr 16, 2013 Alright! Thanks! Anyway, at least I have one iPod device in case I do get a non universal one. Drucifer Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2010 1,568 1 38 Canada #19 Drucifer, Apr 17, 2013 Pocket Clothier, Cafeteria N, Sushi Spinnery, Beastie Bay and I think Dungeon Village are all universal. I maybe wrong or missing some but last time I checked I believe that's it and I just checked recently to see which ones I'll be replaying when my iPad Mini arrives. Greyskull Well-Known Member Dec 13, 2009 5,587 1 38 Photographer/Social Sciences adjunct/sweet sweet l Fort Lauderdale #20 Greyskull, Apr 17, 2013 I just wanted to add that I think (think being the operative word) that apps run in 2x mode look WORSE on an iPad mini than on (at least) an ipad 1 or 2. I don't know about a 3 or 4 (and no, I'm not listening to marketers and calling them the Retina iPad and the New iPad), they are higher resolution but I recall hearing that at least the 4 has some sort of pixel-doubling feature which makes iphone apps look better in 2x mode. I can't use my iphone 4S now for anything besides the basics. I almost wish I hadn't gotten an ipad...well, except for the ipad specific games/apps. Staring at a 3.5 inch retina screen just kills my eyes now, though it was my platform for the majority of the time I've been here. Maybe I'll go back to buying non-universal apps when I'm eligible for an upgrade to an iphone 5+ (I think it will be in November, so there might be a newer device to upgrade to). That extra half inch might make the difference. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
