Graphically, looks like a nice leap up from the other 2 Chaos Rings titles. No more tiled/blocked textures, at least. Though still not as good as I've seen on iOS.
i think it looks very nice. they just didn't go for the realism look, since mobile devices aren't powerful enough for something like final fantasy 13. i mean... infinity blade is very impressive for iOS and is, technically wise, more proficient in handling graphics than chaos rings 2, but IB doesn't look very nice period. i'd prefer cell shaded/cartoon graphics to hide rough edges any day.
This is the best thing SE could bring to the idevices.. an original series. No mediocre port of great but aged games. I love the first two installments, since they are really well written and highly emotional. I'm really interested how they want to continue the story. Hope it's as good as the other two games story-wise. It already looks fantastic. Seriously, I can't wait to spent hours and hours again diving into this world. Really love Chaos Rings.
Nobody buys more premium games on the AppStore then me, but even I have to admit that Square-Enix games are laughably overpriced for what they are. 15+ year-old ports for $9.99+, and one "sequel" to their only original iOS IP, which recycled all the same assets and wasn't really a sequel at all. There's no way I could stomach the thought of purchasing Omega, but I suppose there's some level of hope that SE will step up their game with CR2. If I feel that the effort is truly worthwhile, I'll definitely pay the $15 or so that it'll likely cost. There has been nothing new for quite a while.
I bought Chaos Rings ages ago but never really got into it despite playing it a couple of times. Then yesterday I tried again for some reason and was hooked this time and completed the game (Escher/Musiea) in one day in two really long sessions. I thought the game was awesome. Really glad I gave it another chance as its probably one of my favourite iOS games now. Already going though my second playthrough and picked up Omega in the sale despite what I've heard about the recycling. Can't wait for Chaos Rings 2 now
I've completed the game with two couples now and the overall playtime says 10 hours 45 minutes. I don't know if I can mentally complete it another two times to get the final ending, I may actually go insane. The playtime is easily going to be at least 20 hours by the time I finish it T__T
Any news about chaos rings 2? Really Really really looking forward to this game, being a huge fan of the first 2 :X
