@mekanikal fiend: we plan on playing the uploaded version before release, just to be sure no strange and unforseen things happen when you download the game. but that should cost us no more than 1-2 days. @idragoncool: with iTouch I assume you mean iPod or iPhone?! we will see if a such a version will come. if it comes, it will most probably be another game (other maps and perhaps you only control one or two characters, because a party of four would be hard to manage on the small devices).
Party Hi, Just a quick question: are your party members controlled by the AI or do you have to manually position your team as you move through dungeons? Thanks
I plan on getting this for my iPad 2 upon release as I love RPG's in general. Are there anymore character classes outside the four that are playable? If not do you plan on implementing more?
Well, it can drastically increase the popularity of a game if it's 0.79 or even free for a few days, and the echo (word of mouth, people talking about it more on forums, etc.) could lead to a larger total revenue in the end. But from a customer's perspective, I have to say that it's slightly irritating if you buy a game for the full price and then, a few weeks later, it's suddenly free or lowered to 20% of what I paid for it just a little while earlier. There's a good chance I'll not buy games at the full price from developers who do this frequently and just wait for a sale. On the other hand, it's really nice to discover a sale for a game that remotely interests me, but that didn't grab me enough to buy it at the full price. So in this case, I would not have spent money at all on an app if it had not been on sale. But hey, 3.99 still seems extremely cheap to me for a game that'll last at least a dozen of hours. Then again, my (former professional, nor just hobbyist) background is PC gaming, so anything that doesn't cost 45 looks pretty darn inexpensive. Viel Glück mit dem Launch -- auf dass das Spiel einschlägt wie ein Kugelblitz!
Definitely a day one-er for me too. One question: When you say "a dozen of hours" Do you mean "dozens of hours" or "a dozen hours ? dozens of hours would imply a heck of a lot more than twelve. Thanks -looks amazing.
I meant "a dozen hours", based on the dev's statement that he and his colleague finished the campaign in 10-14 hours. I don't know how long the game is for us mortals who haven't worked on it for nearly a year. Probably longer than that! Also, the replay value is completely unknown to me. But if I get 12+ hours out of a game, I'm quite happy.
to me, plural numerical quantifiers imply multiplication of the quantifier. i.e. 'dozens' implies multiple dozens, or more, so 24+ or 36+... i'm guessing they meant a dozen+ hours.
@trayray:you control all 4 party members @godson: you have the 4 races (elf, minotaur, dwarf and human) which are seperated into 3 classes each. new races won't come. although i seriously consider adding undeads as playable race in future games of us. minotaur: berserker, gladiator, bull elf: ranger, archer, assassin human: light, matter, void (mage) dwarf: draftsman, engineer, miner @mivo: danke yeah, a 0,79 sale could lead to higher sales afterwards, but it could also lead to a loss of money. there's not much left of the 0,79 after apple and the taxman took its share the play time is always subject to your play style. if you search for hidden rooms or try to break the game on challenging play time will naturally go up.
Sound like that would make for a lot of replayability. Love it! Do you have to play the one class you choose in the beginning or are you able to branch off to other classes' skill trees(hoping they have a good amount of skills per class)? I definitely like the sound of them all.
you have to play one class through the whole campaign. each class has three basic skills, which get stronger through leveling. some items also give you special skills (like nets etc.) we had to make a decision about the number of skills per class. it would have been impossible to add more than five skills per race without ruining the interface. you have to manage 12+ skills (of your four characters) at the battles, so adding more skills would have been too much to handle for most players.
Congrats on the release! any chance you could lower the firmware to 4.2.1? i cant be bothered with upgrading for one game!!!
thanks! I'm pretty excited right now! it should work on 4.2.1. we had it working on a 4.2.1 for a long time, so there should be no problem! we don't have this version here, so we can't test. please try it and pm me if there are problems. we will surely find a solution if necessary.
It's downloading as I write this. I actually have to get some work done, but I think that'll wait a bit today.
