I was about to make this thread. It's about time that we allow same sex marriage, plus one for human rights.
Good. Prop 8 was, like all measures put forth to keep Teh Gay out of marriage, just a bunch of right wing fundie bullshit with no rational basis for existence. Mind you, most right wing fundie bullshit has no rational basis for existence in the first place, so that's hardly surprising; the embarrassment was that the proposition even managed to get as far as it did. Now the rest of the holdout states just have to follow suit. Best on the last holdouts? I'm thinking Texas, Alabama, or Utah.
You don't have to smoke it to hope it gets legalized. I don't smoke (weed), don't like it, tend to think just a little bit poorer of those who do, and know that it has its own health hazards, but I also recognize that it's comparatively harmless and frankly no worse than booze in terms of its deleterious effects, and it's very hard to become addicted to it (much harder than any other drug, including alcohol and tobacco), so I really don't know why it's illegal to begin with. Harder drugs? Absolutely, they're illegal for damn good reason and need to stay that way, but weed shouldn't be lumped in with them.
lmao funny how it started off with california and gays and got to california and weed, but anyways, yeah, congragulations so +1 to ShadowsFall
Gay marriage and weed both (almost) legalised? The world needs to follow California, they seem to be getting a lot things right. Defiantly good news for gays. Although I don't think they should be allowed to adopt children, being brought up by a gay couple just doesn't seem right.
It's cause Cali is mostly progressive these days. As MindField said, right-wing nuts are just there to halt the progress of life for Americans, and yet I strictly believe that. They have no basis of support for their actions so therefore they are retards. Not saying all Liberals are much better, but we tend to have better quality of life ideas. For the most part... But you don't think gays should be able to adopt? I have a cousin who was raised by 2 moms and he is just fine. There is nothing wrong with it, especially if its in the arms of a couple who are eager to love and nurture the child better than where he/she came from. What is wrong with that? You don't need a f*cking gun. No one needs a f*cking gun. I live in Arizona where gun laws are absolutely null and void and all it does is cause problems. I am not saying outlaw them, but that doesn't mean every god damn person needs to own one.
The hell you need a gun for? Protection? Might as well get a knife collection instead, no knife license eh?
