Like all "Release on this date" releases, it will hit US at 8:00 PM PST (11:00 PM EST) after it first shows up in NZ.

This fabulous swashbuckling, turn-based, high-seas adventure combines elements of several popular genres (RTS, adventure, shoot 'em up action). Sounds like a potential recipe for disaster right? Wrong. It all just flows seamlessly, resulting in a seriously addictive mini-epic blaster. But all this is hardly surprising when you consider that it's brought to us from Bungie!

One unfathomable omission however, is the rather questionable absence of Apple's social teasure trove of Achievements and Leaderboards, Game Center. Personally, I'd have thought that C:SP and GC were made for eachother?! Let's just hope that the developers have a rethink in this department.

Other than that one minor kink, for me at least, Crimson: Steam Pirates is one seriously good adventu-arrrrrrr..!! I know right, shoot me! ;)

[Edit] Ps, it goes without saying that I bought the second chapter DLC pack - awesome!

    Got it!

Played the tutorials. Cant wait to get home from work and play it properly. Looks great. I had a problem where I ran into shallow water and couldnt reverse. Could be that I dont know how to yet. Visually awesome.

Got the game and love it! Harebrained Schemes and Bungie have done a terrific job. It's turned based combat done soooo smooth.

Can't wait for more Bungie Aerospace games...

Streetsy just drag the ship outline behind the ship and it should reverse for you. Unless you really beached it! :)

Just tried the game out and it's very cool. If anyone has played steam birds it plays almost the same but with ships. I'd would recommend anyone that likes turn based strategy to try it out.

Fingers crossed they push out the iPhone/iPod version soon.
Any word on multi-player either online or pass and play in the future?
That's what will really make this game.

Is there a plan for asynchronous online play?

It is on their radar, yes. I think it is something they will work on if the game does really well.

You gotta love this logic. smh

  16. Can you try rebooting the app? Double click on the iPad home button, then tap and hold the Crimson: Steam Pirates icon until it visibly shakes. A red minus icon (-) should appear. Click it. (I stole all of that copy from the FAQ.)

If that doesn't work, email crimson_sup at bungie.com.

I don't know that they ever explored async mp. The primary focus for the team was def on the single player campaign.

Just played the first episode — great, in every way.

This one is going to be a hit.

Loving this game. Played a couple hours last night. I will be buying the expansion.

On shallow water, just don't run into it. :) I restarted when I screwed up getting all three of my ships into this predicament.

Man. That seems silly to not have even thought about an async version. That's what made the constructible pirates game so much fun. With only 16 levels I feel like it'd be possible to play through this in a day or two and then it'll get shelved until an update comes out. That'd be a real shame especially since it looks like it has so much potential. If Harebrained doesn't jump on that we can only hope someone else does.

Does Steam Birds have an async option?
