Sick of all these new gaming network things ... they're all the same, just can't talk to each other. I don't think there is a single one I like, they're all just perfunctory garbage tacked on to a game as an afterthought. Until one side wins, I say, screw 'em.
That made my day lol, thanks . Anyway I do like how Crystal is skinned to the game. It also offers all the other features the others do (while minus a few from feint). All 4 major networks have their advantages and disadvantages, I would probably put Crystal at a tie for #2 on my list with feint at this point.
Random Guy, damn, what a cool handle! Randomness in levels of games (either randomly generated levels entirely or at least randomized spawn points) has always been my biggest one track mission! I just think Crystal, even if half way decent, has just come way too late to the party. It's like Sony having to make their own proprietary version of something other manufacturers have already done (and often better) and reached an industry standard or HP needing a different ink cartridge for each and every printer they make (as if it would really be that hard to just make one standardized ink cartridge). You aren't doing anyone any favors but just dividing up the gaming community more.
im not denying that in any way whatsoever! what i actually meant was the devs don't update/care about those games much anymore. that's what i mean when i say dead
Crystal Pics The skin looks nice, but I already like OpenFeints and Plus+ layout a bit better. I will give it some more time to see if it grows on me. Here are a couple screens: Feel free to add me: GodSon
Here are a few I posted in the Zombie Dash thread... Edit: note that these screens are from the v1.2 update which is still in review. Should be out anytime now.... It also has challenges. In Zombie Dash we have added 8 challenges where you can compete head to head to see who can get the best score.
I am already set up in openfeint with friends etc......and it's great now. I would also rather just have one standard way that leaderboards are done. Openfeint is way ahead of all the others
Here's my impressions of Crystal after having used it a few days: I don't really like it. First off, there are two major annoyances that will keep me from using it as much as the others: 1) Every time I open Crystal, it asks me if it can use my location. Sometimes twice. 2) When I get incoming friend requests, it sends me an email. These are really starting to annoy me. Next up comes the UI. While it's nice that the UI retains game flavor, I find that there is a lot of wasted space (about 1/4 of the screen) and that most of the things I want to do (especially adding friends, etc) require a lot of scrolling. One other problem with the keeping of game elements is that when you click on buttons on the right - they highlight as if they were whole rectangles, rather than the shape shown (Guerrilla Bob cuts one corner off, for example.) Strange that it has Twitter integration, but wouldn't let me import my image from Twitter. The one thing I really I do like is how the news feed works - you can even check out other users' news feeds. I also like how it clearly states what percentage of achievements you've attained. Finally, every time I see the logo, it makes me want to play Glyder.
