Saw that on 04-24-2012 at 03:20 PM, TA forums had a record number of 10,537 active viewers What was going on? A game launch or something? Sorry if this isn't the right section for this
Hmmm... Maybe Dead Trigger flamewars contributed... Signed, Connector President of the Dead Trigger Defense Squad
I believe Notch tweeted about the forum and we got a spike of visitors. Don't quite remember the specifics beyond that.
I believe this was the reason as well, although it was also broken a few months prior to this because of a tweet by Notch about TA. Creator of a little game called Minecraft.
It's my birthday, and the world loves me. But only a small portion knew i was on TA, but they still flooded the forums.
I haven't a clue who 'Notch' is either. I'm not a fan of Minecraft at all so i didnt know who you were talking about.
Yup... Thanks! But we spent my birthday last week here in the hospital where i am at again right now.
Even if you're not into the game, you should check out the documentary "Minecraft: The Story of Mojang" if you have any interest in indie game development at all. It's quite an amazing story. I liked the part where it covers Minecraft being used in schools to set tasks and problem-solving challenges for kids... those lucky little...
Notch is the guy who lived the indie developer dream. He had a game he was working on, alone, and decided to try and sell access to it so he could finish the game and maybe start his small, modest career. Instead he made millions. I think I read an interview once that said he became a little depressed as he saw the number on his bank account grow exponentially. Stopped looking at it all together. Must be strange to feel like you've somehow made the biggest success ever when you were just taking your first steps. Daw, just go watch the documentary.
