Nah, he's just bidding his time make it a mind blowing game. When it finally does get released it will be AWESOME! We just have to be patient.
i have no problem with patience. I wouldn't tell people it's constantly coming though when it isn't I'm also going to throw this out there - There is NO WAY this game will be out this month...NO WAY. Mark my words. In fact, I would be shocked to see it in May...Extremely Shocked I'm not picking on the developer, he seems like a very nice guy - just shouldn't keep saying every few days that news is coming in a few days. I have seen it a ton. Then the game was put on hold for a publishing deal and that appears to have fallen through, as it's going to be self-published anyway. There is more going on here than just polish development. I mean it in the most friendly way possible. As I said, the developer is one of the nicer guys out there and I do like him.
Thats a depressing prediction Oh well, more patience it is. Yes, the dev does seem really nice and quite active in the forums.
Okay I'm finally getting some flack on this, and I deserve it. I apologize. You are right, the publishing deal slowed things to a crawl as it was weeks before I'd heard anything from them at one point. They are the biggest publisher in the store (world?) and I thought it would be worth the wait. The game would have been submitted Feb 28th as predicted (less than 2 months ago by the way) but they contacted me at the last minute saying they were interested in the game. I never solicited any publishers myself. At that time I only had 10 or 12 jumps, I forget. I held off on making some of the changes because I knew they would have certain criteria I would have to meet. In the end the deal fell through, which actually freed me up to make the changes I'd been waiting for. They did, however, give me a lot of valuable feedback which I have since incorporated. Now, I am working furiously to get this done. I changed the menus to make them much more user friendly and efficient. I added a new Tour mode, and more jumps. This is also my first App Store release so I'm a bit of a newb on this platform. So, as I said, I apologize for the broken "promises" and delays. But this game is so much better than it was on Feb 28th. I am extremely impatient with devs who release games that are missing features with the promise that they will "fix everything" later. I decided the delay was worth it, and it will be. Now that I'm self publishing, things are moving along rapidly again. Prepare to be shocked! Dave WILL be submitted by the 30th. I say again,"Dave WILL be submitted by the 30th". I hate making more promises but screw it, this is one I can and will keep. I "could" submit it now, but adding the new Injury Tour mode introduced a few new glitches in the menus I need to fix. I played it all night on my iPhone and it's great.
Well that's good to hear. Thanks for the post. As I said before, I mean no offense, as I do think highly of you as a person and a developer. I just like to harass people a little bit too Can't wait for the game, as I will be
Just a small update: The game is coming along nicely. The difficulty balance of the game is being fine tuned and last minute bugs and tweaks are being addressed. Barring any problems with Apple's review process, this game will be available in early May. Of course an exact date is impossible, as the length of time they take to approve the game seems somewhat random. I am very excited to be on the verge of bringing this game to you. It has been a labor of love and I hope you enjoy playing it even more than I enjoyed building it!
Currently playing pocket legends (only to pass the time until Darevel Dave is posted on itunes!!!!!). I have this thread on refreshrate=30seconds).
