It had been prophesied centuries ago, and people all over the world of Ylkis were expecting it, ready to one day face the wrath of the Gods. Chaos reigns, and the End of Times seemed inevitable. But the Gods seem to have given us one last chance. The Dungeons have opened and hope has been brought back. It is said that for every Dungeon conquered, the world will live another day, and that humanity may prove its worth to the Gods once again. And so the race against time began. Will you save the world from its impending doom, or will you be the one who brought upon its extinction? ► ► ► ► ► Dark Raider is a new retro Action game brought to you by the same team that gave you Tribemen. Raid hundreds of dungeons, hack through waves of enemies, and defeat powerful bosses in this new take to the Hack & Slash action genre. RANDOM GENERATED MAP The game uses random maps. The player needs to explore new areas and fight against different monsters every time, the dungeon will reset upon the player’s death. So the player will never do the same run twice. MULTIPLE HEROES AVAILABLE As the mainline advances, you can unlock three different heroes. They are Warrior, Mage and Barbarian. Warrior focuses on fast attack speed and quick movement, he is the best choice to deal with fast enemies. Mage focuses on burst damage, she is very squishy but can deal tons of damage. Barbarian focuses on survive, he has higher defense and more health, but he also has the slowest attack speed. DARK THEME ART STYLE Dark Raider has its unique art style. It uses the modern way to create a retro feeling. It also uses TFR-ISO to make the dungeon more immerse. The player will have a chance to explore this great fantasy world and enjoy their adventure. ► ► ► ► ► • Multiple characters available, you can always find one that fits you. • Hardcore action combat, you can use various combos to defeat the enemies. • Each run, you will grow stronger, and there are more than 17 different runes to collect • Epic boss fight, there are 23 different bosses waiting for your challenge. • Unique art style that create a great dark theme dungeon. ► ► ► ► ► http://twitter.com/TRINITIgames http://facebook.com/TRINITIgames Information Seller:Triniti Interactive Limited Genre:Action, Adventure Release:Apr 05, 2020 Updated:May 20, 2020 Version:1.0.0 Size:629.7 MB TouchArcade Rating:Unrated User Rating:Unrated Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal Steam trailers: Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #2 Talbs, Apr 5, 2020 This looks good. But seems like a newish game, recently released on steam as well with a few positive reviews there. Think I’ll check around for more reviews, but this ones definitely gone on to my radar. What a time for indie devs and this beautiful pixel art. edit: twisted my arm with a download due to “free”. Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,240 180 63 #3 Royce, Apr 5, 2020 Yeah I’m actually kind of confused. There’s no IAP, and while I haven’t played much past the tutorial yet, I haven’t seen any signs of ads either (and the Play store which conveniently tells you when an app contains ads does not list them with this game). Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #4 Talbs, Apr 5, 2020 yep, same. I’ve only just played past the tutorial and won my first floor (against the clown), now on to the next floor in what looks like a series of floor fights until an end boss. so far no sign of purchase required. the controls are a bit of a pinch to get used to, but I have to say, it basically works. There are some confusing things with the controls and how it’s explained. There’s a bit that says “keeping pressing ‘!’ To destroy the alter”. What it actually means is HOLD the SPACE on the screen where the exclamation mark is. Had me confused for a while and tapping every where on the screen because when you press the ‘!’ It disappears from under your finger. Anyway. It’s quite a decent game at the minute. The controls are not to bad and the action is fun. Get past the tutorial (it’s not too long), get used to the controls (they’re not too bad), and dare I throw out that skimpy phrase, but there’s a bit of a soulslike game here. it’s free, give it a try! Edit: it’s now gone from the AppStore. I’m thinking this may have been an accidental release. Still not sure how it’s going to monetise, and maybe it was meant to be premium. The steam version is closer to $10. Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,240 180 63 #6 Royce, Apr 6, 2020 Thing is they moved the release date several times so it couldn’t have been an accident. Maybe a miscommunication between the developer and publisher? Triniti may not comprehend how premium games work, like the whole upfront pricing thing. Who knows. Anyway I’ll update the title and see if I can dig up any info, but the devs themselves have no presence whatsoever online, and Triniti has been quiet for years (they just recently started updating some old games, took out the IAPs and have this and another release upcoming). The only source of info seems to be the PC publisher. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,126 703 113 #7 anthony78, Apr 6, 2020 Used to like some of their old games. Didn’t realize they were updating them for their 10 year anniversary. And not only that, they are making them completely free “out of gratitude of your long support”. Doubt they would make this completely free as a new game but maybe? In any case, going to redownload some of those old games! It looks great and no telling when it'll come back. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,126 703 113 #9 anthony78, Apr 6, 2020 That first boss is pretty hard considering it’s your first little dungeon and getting used to the controls. I still haven’t beaten him, lol. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #10 ste86uk, Apr 6, 2020 I tried it but it wasn’t my kind of game really so deleted it before this happened anyway. But if they are free I’ll always try them if it seems interesting. Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #11 Talbs, Apr 6, 2020 Yep. And I gotta say it only gets harder. The second boss is way harder. As you collect coins you can spend those to make your character stronger. But I think you have to first beat the first boss to unlock that. I’ve been trying to beat the second boss for maybe an hour or two. And that’s even with spending for level ups. From what I’ve learnt, I can see that the game is essentially a big grind. Basically face harder and harder bosses, dieing over and over again while leveling up, before things start to feel more squishy. I don’t mind it too much because that’s essentially most RPG’s or beat em ups anyway, and the gameplay of this I find quite fun anyway. Judging and escaping the attacks of the opponents is quite soulslike. though I can’t for the life of me time the shield to parry successfully at all. I can do it great in a game like Dead Cells, but in this game it seems like that window for a successful parry is so small and specific on each enemy. I see the attack about to happen, god to the parry, and to me it looks like it’s going to be good, and then nup, that didn’t work and I get smashed. So dodge to me seems like the only major answer to avoiding attacks. Still lots of fun. Thedrawguy Well-Known Member Jan 8, 2019 54 33 18 Male #12 Thedrawguy, Apr 7, 2020 Really enjoying this game so far. I am at the final boss of the first portal. I love the fighting and how a perfect parry hurts the enemy or stuns them or knocks them down. Challenging but fun! Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,240 180 63 #13 Royce, Apr 11, 2020 The Steam version is going on sale the 13th for like a buck to celebrate the mobile release so one can assume it will be back on the AppStore by then. It will be interesting to see what has changed. Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #14 Talbs, Apr 23, 2020 Strange to see this still hasn’t re-released back on to the store, some nearly 3 weeks later. I don’t mind this game at all. It’s got an anime dark souls staged action thing going on. Beating each boss is tough as nails just like souls. over on the right of town is a guy that you can talk to to challenge any of the previously experienced bosses in a trial match which is cool to jump straight in to the action. Though you earn nothing from this, thus don’t level up which levelling is very central to any progression here.
