Fantastic game. Just left a five-star rating and glowing review on the Canadian Store to rectify the unforgivable 'no ratings'. Hopefully that'll net a few well-deserved sales. Everyone except the absolutely broke should givethis one a try.
@chi I'm spreading the word on Reddit and NeoGAF. http://www.reddit.com/r/iosgaming/comments/1k9923/delta_v_racing_on_sale_for_099/ http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=76109295#post76109295 Hope this helps. Hate seeing good games get punished with crappy sales
Done! Other people should do this too. A lot of great games around here live and die with terrible sales figures and it really sucks, but it's the nature of the AppStore. This game, however, really REALLY deserves to make it. Seriously one of my favorite games of the year so far and it'd be really sad if it was not supported.
Submit Tip is always greyed out, to stylishly blend into the page color scheme... and when you say "nothing happens" do you mean that a blank e-mail to [email protected] pops up? If not then you could just manually open an e-mail composition to that address.
Thanks for all the support and understanding guys, it warms the cockles of my heart! Also, remember to post in the main thread as well sometimes as that front page gets a lot of eyeballs too: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=197538&highlight=delta-v+racing Oh, and please review on your local AppStore please. I think you can review a new version even if you've reviewed a previous one. Thanks to Sciuridae for reviewing on Canadian store. Much appreciated!
Yep, I'm gonna keep plugging away! Hopefully, there'll be some sort of tipping point soon. Thanks Bronxsta, much appreciated!
What the hell...after dropping over $30 on the Cave sale, what's another .99 The positive comments, along with Icade support is what ultimately sold it. Hate seeing good devs/games struggle too. Hope sales pick up!
The AppStore is a crazy place. There are (for me anyways) so many good to great games that come out week to week that it's hard to keep up with actually playing them. I think maybe others have this same problem. It's easy for a game like this to slip through the cracks as I completely missed this one as I don't seem to care much for racing right now. But, then there's one post... And that's what pushed me over the edge to find out more about it. No one posted anything about the controls though. I think that may be one of the negatives for looking at the game on the appstore. It's not clear by the screen shots or information how this controls. My default thought is it's just another one touch game which for the most part I'm tired of. I had to go read several pages in the game thread after doing a search to find it to find out what the controls are. Anyway this line of the appstore listing could be tweaked: "Precise controls that have been designed from the ground up for touch screens." since it reveals nothing about the controls. So maybe that's a big part of the uphill battle... just getting information out there in a way that gets people interested. The whole sweetdiss post though... That's a game seller quote right there.
Controls are relative touch. Slide your finger vertically across the screen to control the height position of your ship. Tap to use boosts/attacks.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well the touch controls work in this game. Sliding your finger up and down and tapping to activate powers feels great. It definitely has a Wipeout meets F-Zero meets Gradius thing going on. I like the different race objectives, too, so you don't always feel like you're racing opponents X-Y-Z over and over again. Pick this one up if you haven't already.
Congrats on the 4.5 rating on the App Store! Just left my 5 star review. Only played the tutorial and first two races but it's excellent. The controls are fantastic and thank you for that B-slide alt option (movement on right side, so finger isn't blocking the ship)
Left some suggestions/ideas in the main thread but I'll post here as well - a Gauntlet mode (enemies have weapons, you don't) - a Leech pick up (either shot at the racer in front of you, or maybe affects the racers around you, drains speed from them to you) - maybe not right for this game but would love to see some kind of environmental hazards (energy barriers, lasers, turrets, etc). The twitch gameplay here is great and I think stuff like that could some replayability, some more variety, and more tactics while racing
Hey guys, thanks for the reviews. I've just had a read and they're great! @sink_or_swim - I can't read German but it looked ace @Bronxsta - I replied to your suggestions in the other thread
Hi nightc1, You're right, what I say about the controls doesn't really say much. I hadn't really thought about it. I think I was just trying to convey that they were different, but didn't really say what they were. If you've played the game, how would you describe the controls in a nice short snappy sentence? I'd love to use the Mikey Shorts quote but I'd get slaughtered for doing so!
