    Heh,

I read "CEO" and "I'm only 14" and did a double take..

I am not trying to put down ambitious developers but come on!

Even if he did have the $100USD for the iphone developer program, he's not 18 and couldn't fill out the tax/bank info!

    Well good luck.

Yep, the parents provide all the info and the parents are legally bound to the contract. The developers can be any age.

I wish something like this was available when I was a kid.

I'm actually 39 and started programming in about 1983 (I was 13). Game development was impossibly difficult back then and there was no such thing as Object Oriented Programming.

I was still able to make a simple platformer complete with gravity, controls and collision. Game development is 1000 times easier these days, but also 1000 times more complex. It still requires the drive to simply 'do it', and not wait for someone to teach you how.

The most successful devs get it done.

Yffum, according to that contract you signed, all art you gave us is ours now, and if you decided to quit, your completed art was still legally mine, so you're pretty much stuck there. And another thing, you actually have the nerve to accuse me of impersonating you? Wow. You've got problems man. And yeah, my parents sign the dev stuff, but I am really the dev.

I recall signing no contract. And a contract means nothing without a lawyer.

yes, but you verbally agreed to the contract, therefore accepted it's terms and conditions.

however, the point you made about a lawyer is true

I sign no contract but hardcore is using my idea of robo in the game.

    But Mr.Crazy,
It's an "idea", not a piece of artwork! So we can still use it!

It doesn't matter. For artwork, you need proof of consent, and I wouldn't be surprised if hardcoregamer deleted the PMs.

I only made yffum sign a contract, no need to ask why, as you can all see his craziness on this thread, but let's stay on topic people.

    OnTopic:

I know it is really early, but is it possible to see some artwork?

I know a lot of artists and developers are shy about showing off sketches and preliminary work, but as a person who has been doing this professionally for over 20 years I can say this: 'get over it'. Be proud and happy that someone shows interest in your work.

I'll show some preliminary ideas and sketches for Flickitty if that will help (they are hilariously bad). I have an evolution of Flick going for about 2 years.

I've been looking at a game called Cheese Collect by Koh Jing Yu. While the artistic style of that game is much different than my own, I really like the overall design and style.

I would love to, but I don't want people stealing it. I guess I could post one, early one. I will start an official thread in Mid-December. Remember that this is after only three weeks, and a rough three weeks at that. This isn't the final draft.
