Wait, $1.99 for that!!?!?! Dudes, don't be on yer phone while crossing the street, saves you $1.99 AND saves your life! Woah.
How fast is the loading time? and does it support visual voice mail as well? I did not see a tab for that. Other than that , looks very nice!
Thanks for the comments everyone! I feel it is priced where it should be for the utilities category, there is a lot of crap at the 99 cent point in utilities. @Nekcik, I just counted and it's about 4 seconds on my iPhone 3g, that is the load time from launching the app to the keypad, the contact load time depends on how many contacts you have, I have about 300 on my phone and the load time is about 4 seconds for that as well. Recents and Favorites are pretty much instant. It does not support voicemail though, apple provides no developer access to voicemail at this time. Also apple does not provide access to the favorites or recents in their own phone app, so the recents and favorites are exclusive to dial n walk and not pulled from the phone app.
Thank you for the swift reply and the load time. I have two more questions about your app. As of now do you have any future additional updates planned for this app? for example: adding picture support as you scroll down your contact list(if not violating apple's strict .api rules)? And do you plan on doing any promotions for your app? I know asking directly for a promotion is against the rules, but hopefully not against the rules asking if your planning on doing a promotion. I will however promise a review , and at the same time I don't mind paying for this sadly I'm still on the fence about 3 things. 1: the Visual voicemail not on that( i know that's not your fault but i am planning on replacing it with the default dial button, and 2: The Icon but I have everything but this is my opinion. 3: How fast the load time will be on a 3GS. I know you tested the speed on a 3G however , My experience with phone dial apps are that sometimes they can be the same speed on both phones, and then the developer can go back and optimize it to run a bit fast on both phones or just to the 3GS.
Found a review of it, cool! http://www.iphonesavior.com/2010/01/dial-n-walk-iphone-app-is-a-clear-winner.html
My Review I tried the app out on both a 3G and a 3GS and I want to point out a few things I like and a few I do not like. Pros: 1: It's such a great idea for things like dialing or looking for a contact while your walking around in a crowded mall. I have found myself bumping into people because you get so focused into what your doing on your iphone. 2: It's a nice way to change your dial screen background if your phone is not jailbroken and to add to that your background is always changing depending on where you plan on calling someone. 3: The Dial pads are easy to see regardless what your camera is looking at and even the dial buttons seem to be transparent which is a plus. 4: Every time you open the app it always opens in the page of the dial tones(this may be a negative to some people but for myself its a plus. Cons: (these are my personal opinions on what i did not like) 1: I would like to see the dial buttons spread out enough to utilize the whole screen vs it all seeming to all be on the bottom area, maybe bring the blue bar to the top and make the dial buttons bigger, they are transparent after all. 2: The contact list should be in alphabetical order reflecting the settings that are in the settings for your iphone First , Last . Clearly the app sets it up by last names making the contact list seem out of order since it displays the list first name first. 3: The native iphone dial button when opened takes just a few seconds to open up and when you close it and open it again it has a built in cache that makes it open up instantly, as where Dial n Walk always has a camera to open first, then the dial portion of the app which for some on a 3GS may want something to open up fast(this is clearly up to the buyer as you are trading off speed for the comfort of knowing your not goign to run into something while dialing) 4: No picture when you press the contact and no way to send a Text message to them via the app. 5: Some times when you press the button big green call button under your contact the app closes and does not make the call, has happened to me 2 times now (possible bug?) 6: When you are done with the phone call it always goes back to the native phone screen, is there a way possible not to go back to it? It would really be nice to call someone and hang up knowing you don't still have an app open once you decide to use your phone again. Overall this is a great start and even though my cons weigh in a bit more then the pros at 1.99 to some people who live in the fast lane or the drunk will find this app useful. It probably won't replace to native app due to not having the visual voice mail tab but that is not the developers fault, he has said in a post "It does not support voicemail though, apple provides no developer access to voicemail at this time." With some bug fixes and enhancements this will be an app to add to your collection. Nice Job!
Wow thank you so much for the feedback, I will try to answer your cons: 1. What I was going for with the keypad was to try and make it so all the buttons can be pressed with your thumb so it easy to dial with one hand, so that is why they are closer to the bottom. Also even though they are transparent I didn't want them to obscure the camera view to much. 2. I will see if I can address this in a future update, thank you for pointing it out, I guess it's just something I didn't think of. If I can get access to the iPhone's sorting prefs then I will use it, but at the very least I can include an option within the app to change the sorting order. 3. Yeah, not sure there is much I can do about this, the camera loading code is about as streamlined as I can get, it's just a limitation of how fast the camera loads on the phone 4. I think I can include pics for the contacts, again this is why feedback is so great, I don't really use that feature on my iPhone so it's just something I didn't think of. Not sure about texting, I read reviews on some texting apps in the app store, a lot of users were annoyed with the fact that you can't really compose a text outside of the built in sms app, if I can make it work well then I'm not opposed to adding it, but if the texting doesn't work well because of limitations with what developers can do then I'm not sure I will add something like that 5. That is something I would like to look into further, do you know if there was anything weird about the number? One issue is third party apps do not support # or *, so those calls won't be allowed from my app, but what happens in that case is when you press call nothing should happen, my app should remain open 6. I don't think that is possible because of the way third party apps are allowed to integrate with the phone, but I will look further into it Thanks again for the review and suggestions, I really appreciate it!

Thanks for the comments guys! @AaronAMV actually there is already an app for that called Text n Walk, it's pretty cool.
A quick update has been released that fixes the contact sorting, it now respects the setting you have chosen in the Mail, Contacts, and Calendar settings.
Like the app, but it would be really cool if the keypad allowed for smart dialling, i.e. looking up contacts based upon the keys pressed (e.g. 6453 for mike). That would give it a genuine advantage over the built-in dialler, and hopefully encourage more sales.
this is nice... useful for ppl in metros I would assume as I never have to walk and dial at the same time and I would not prefer to use this whilst driving anyways, good job developer and nice idea....
Looks like a really cool app. Kinda useless though. I guess this is for the clumsy people who dial really slow and don't pay attention to their surroundings.
Thanks guys, Just wanted to announce that Dial n Walk was featured as a staff favorite in several countries including the UK and Australia!
