So far I'm a one man team. I used to work in animation / tv production and have about 9 years experience in web design, so art and motion graphics aren't a problem for me. I've also been doing all of my own audio engineering and music composition so far, and it's working out quite well.

I'm actually a business major, and currently work for company that trains others how to market products, so marketing and social media are in my pocket too.

I lack in programming skills though. I have a lot of experience coding websites, but Obj-C is quite different and takes a little getting used to. The programming is what is weighing me down and eating up a lot of my time these days :) I'm dedicated to learning it and becoming decent at it though!

I definitely could use help on the programming side though, so that's where I'd first expand my team :)

Currently for our iPhone game project I am mostly alone, I am doing the code (I am a programmer by trade, doing this as a professional jobs since 1993 and been coding since the C=64 days in the '80).

I also do my own graphics, I think I have some talent (I consider myself average in that fields, probably start to do more typing on the keyboard for coding then continue more with the pen/pencil) for that and I like to draw ;-).

As for music id love to do it myself, by my skill are rather poor. And one of my friend part of our indie company (we are a trio), is a very good one and is well equip too. So he is doing the musical compostion and sound fx.

Our other friend in our trio is also like me doing programming mostly and graphics on his own, but he is currently busy working on our XBox Live Community Game in C#/XNA. Eventually we will help each other in our respective project (me doing a bit of C#/XNA and him Ojective-C/iPhone SDK).

And we are getting paid by pizza and soft drink :p and do this part time, ohh and our next official meeting is next week. Depending on how it goes in my iPhone project I might be able to make some announcement.

Good to see you made it to this thread, Fred. Looking forward to your game.

When I got into this business, I was flying solo. (Sounds cheesy, doesn't it?) We have had moderate commercial success with our first release Sparta and have expanded with a full-fledged team to bring great quality experiences to the iPhone.

I just started and I'm not even coding the game in the traditional sense, so obviously I'm not that serious about it. I mean, I'll make the game from start to finish, no doubt, but I like setting my own times :D I'm working on too projects right now, the officially announced 360 Overdrive (what I hope to be an eventual full-fledged game), and Deflection (which is just some side-project I work on when I get tired of 360, but is more of a mini-game). I jump back and forth between the two, enough to make anyone go crazy. I also like customizing and tweaking every factor to my utmost satisfaction :p And not that many people my age actually care about making apps. I'm special (well, along with WellSpentYouth, and I'm guessing Danny95?) I definitely need to work on my graphics and music skills. I need to mess around with Anime Studio Pro more (awesome animation program), and actually get some piano lessons to make songs with actual chord progression.

    So yeah, I work... alone.

    @KrisJones

Thanks for the welcome ;-). I am also hoping to be able to announce my project soon, it has been under wrap for a while now. Luckily I got rid of my nasty bug today, so I can now move forward yeaaah!!!

    Entirely alone.

    So, so alone.

Just me and the tumbleweeds, slaving away, hour after empty hour.

    :(

Actually I expect I'll outsource my game music. My GarageBand efforts are somewhat lacking in polish :p

Sniff. Sniff. I was there. I feel your pain. Actually, I enjoy working alone, but 2 is much better than one. Once I started, I really enjoy working with a team.

Also, there are quite a few people that I talk to, contacts are always good! (I mean the people kind of contacts, not the thing that people put in their eyes :p)

Liverpool? Manchester? Ha! I'm an American and, hence, immune to all emotions about the sport everyone should be calling "soccer."

Oh, I like working alone on my iPhone game--but I do collaborative stuff as well (non-iPhone) which is fun. The thread title triggered my morbid sense of humor though :)

I walk a lonely road, the only one that I have ever known. Don't know where it goes, but it's home to me and I walk alone...

Soccer, schmoccer. At least our game is played predominantly with your feet, not like your "Handball". ;)

    alone here

I've been creating my first game by myself, though I'm using some public domain images and a few sounds from Freesound (with permission from the sound creators). I've been a programmer working in C and C++ for a long time, so picking up objective c was not too difficult. Artwork and sound slow me down considerably, since I'm not overly creative. Hopefully I'll be able to release this thing in the next week or so... maybe I'll try to recruit beta testers from this forum before hand.
