Just wondering what software do you all use? I wrote some songs already in Overture, but I want to add in background music (ie the violins, flutes, guitars, drums, etc), voice and special effects. Which program has the highest sound quality for the instruments (definitely not midi of course)? Thanks. By the way I use Windows, so can't use Garage Band.
I use the highest quality talent of famous musicians in Washington state. Only low class composers need software. *Puffs pipe, sips tea*
Huh, I've heard of you. You're the man training his American monkeys and then calling the garbage that follows "music." You people disgust me. I only hire the best Asian and European musicians around. *Snorts a line*
In reference to RttaM's post, I believe Mindfield uses the program FLStudio for his music composition. He gave some samples of his work in another thread, and they're really impressive. You could check out the website here to see the features.
Thanks for one of two useful answer so far. Thanks RttaM for reference. @ 2nd post: interestingly I always thought background music for music nowadays were performed live and recorded. But then I realized they can't possibly hire an entire band/orchestra for every single song attempt, so it must be software-generated. Maybe only the piano/violin parts are performed live.
will soon be investing in Digital Performer. Right now using Garageband (to its limits), and writing the old fashion way (live off the floor).
Yeah, as RttaM has mentioned, I do compose. My main DAW is FLStudio for Windows, but I've also invested in a number of FL and VSTi plugins to expand the instruments available, including ReFX Nexus, Morphine, and Native Instruments Kontakt. If you're interested in samples I have a few online, and I'm currently working on the soundtrack for Chronosoft's forthcoming Spirit Hunter Mineko RPG, and will probably be able to reveal one or two of the tracks at some point. I mostly compose trance, electronica and ambient left to my own devices, but Mineko is almost completely orchestral in nature, so it's very different. Nexus has some awesome classical instruments for that.
Logic is not a DAW. It's an audio and MIDI recording and editing suite. You still need to buy gear to make music with.
