Correction Ok everybody I'm losing my mind, (thank you very much Dragonvale).... earlier I posted the wrong pairing for my Rainbow.. which is still in egg stage... Correction: It was Blaze 4/Mud 11. And thanks guys for all the Rainbow well wishes!! I will definitely treasure this one.
I posted this in another Dragonvale thread before I saw this one and figured maybe it should have gone here. If you monitor both threads, sorry for the double post. Possible tip for getting a Rainbow (I have not read this entire thread so I apologize in advance if someone has already brought this up): I had been trying in earnest for what seemed like forever to get a Rainbow (since Thanksgiving at least) but with no luck (tried the 10x7 Firefly/Seaweed thing a million freaking times.) Finally in my quest to get a Panlong I kept getting 48 hour eggs (using both the Blazing/Mud and Fog/Lava combos) and ended up with three Rainbows and a Sun to go along with my other two Suns and four Moons that I already had. It was a little ironic because I had been trying for so long to get a Rainbow but got to the point where I was upset when I got a 48 hour egg because by then I just wanted to get the damn Panlong (which I eventually did.) My son (who is eight) loves Dragonvale which is why I play, or at least that's what I tell everyone. Anyway, he comes up to me last night and says that he figured that since a Rainow dragon consists of all of the elements that he should breed a Panlong (which is water, earth, fire and air) with something that contains two of the three remainig elements (plant, lightening and cold) because almost all the elements would be in play so you should have good chance of a Rainbow. As I'm thinking "I guess that makes sense" he yanks out his iTouch and, I kid you not, first try and he gets a 48 hour egg (I don't remember what he bred with the Panlong.) It hasn't been 48 hours yet so we don't know for sure that it's a Rainbow but I was in total disbelief. He was so sure he was right it didn't phase him at all, he was just like "See, told ya." Anyway, I don't know if that was one of those "random-flukey-one-in-a million" things or if he is on to something. But I thought I would pass on the tidbit. As I said, I already have three and have no available habitats so I haven't personally tried it.
Yeah, I got several with Fire/Storm both level 10. I was trying to breed a Sun or Frostfire, but frequently bred Blue Fire. Remember its not every time, but fairly often.... who knows maybe you'll get a Frosty!
That's hilarious! I know how you felt... I've been trying to get a Rainbow for months... since like September or whenever the Rainbow appeared. Now I wish I had a Panlong to try your son's theory! Do you know what other dragon he used? EDIT: @ MaLiesa - Aw thanks!
That 48 hour wait I got from my Fog/Lava? That was a rainbow! Though I tried the same dragons in reverse order and got an 8 hour waiting time, so no luck. Now I'll have to begin the hunt for the Panlong before it gets removed... >_<
I don't know what you have tried so far, but I know that I was able to get the Panlong from a level nine mud and level ten blazing. Hopefully that will work for you.
Grats Echoseven! The Blaze/Mud and Fog/Lava combos are definitely popping out Rainbows as well as Pans (but no Pans for me yet). @ jtfields- Well that was a good theory your son had. And it worked for him! Thanks for sharing your story. My daughter has some breeding ideas that seem to only work for her, not me. Of course.
Excellent Dando, yay!!!! Very interesting huh...exact same combo/lvls/order as both mine. Just moved mine into my nursery amongst all the scorch/fireflys....darn Frosty, my hibernation cave will end up being full of scorch and firefly fails.... I am setting a time frame or else gonna have to use my gems, keep saving them for a rainy day..guess the rains are coming
Good suggestion Girlpower about being able to identify ALL those who give gems. You people have been soo generous last days and weeks and I just don't have all the names but only get the message "....and others....". That just ain't enough for us BFS! Nearly all of us keep schedules ourselves about whom we give gems. Seems like a small effort to adjust the game so you can check better whom you gave and wh you got from. So yes Girlpower: BFS will hear from us! And sooo great to hear that you like my posts. Same here with yours and those of many others. I'm not out here to make jokes and trying to be funny. But I just thoroughly enjoy it out here. Life is sweet,funny and colourful.
messed up forum display in Ipad I'm still there and not about to be scared off by anyone LOL, but last week I messed up the forum display on my Ipad by setting it to threaded mode and it gave a error and whatever I tried, I just couldn't get it back into normal mode . So that is when my forumactivity came to a screaching halt. Unfortunately. Still haven't sorted it out so any suggestion for a solution is welcome. Point is that I can only visit the forum now when I'm behind the laptop and that it not often. Poor me Miss you guys!!!
Aha...that sounds better, thought it was the combo I had posted for the Panlong well almost as my mud was lvl 10 But thats understandable Foxy, you have been a mini coma after all, so gotta consider that

I sure hope BFS will listen to us and fix this gem gifting issue quickly, good to know I am not the only one.....also nice to know we are such a generous lot....it's true that the more we give, the more we get back....I now wish we could buy a second dragonsai as I can't keep up with my gifting back, takes so long for the next 6 to be available to give away.....twice a day would be brilliant. Any ideas on how to get the blue fire and sun and moon with our gems. I have tried everything seems no one is getting much from there breedings.
Park value Does anyone know how park value is calculated? Do more leveled up dragons or more rares count more? Does your treat stash count? But, the big question is the dragons in the hibernation cave- do they add value? Or am I better off taking the coins & extra points for them? Should I be leveling them up before burying them in there? Or doesn't it matter? Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks!
Timeless, you can certainly buy eggs for all the dragons with gems in the market, but it's awfully expensive. Plus, IMHO, unless it's a seasonal dragon that you don't want to miss, it would ruin the challenge, fun & frustration that makes DV so much fun! Go back thru the posts to see what has worked for others or try some of your own ideas for combos. The DragonVale Wiki site is also a valuable resource, but I would suggest exploring it on a PC or laptop. The site is hard to navigate thru on a mobile device like my IPod Touch. forgiven grats Foxtail!!! And nicely coloured announcement no one will be bothered that you used 4 gems to speed it up. Sometimes it is just too difficult to wait patiently..... We all have that every now and then. And some of us wish we had some good excuses to give in a little bit more often. Like a second sun, sandstorm or panlong......just to mention some (quite randomly mind you haha!.....not.....)
redecorating Hey girl! Good to hear from you! This is a forum and we're a bit out of line with our nearly pm's but guess that's ok, or otherwise we'll go pm (though don't know how yet ). Guys say a big HI back to you! We are rearranging a few islands now and it feels the same unorganized mess as when you moving in real life: one island a big gathering of all that is too costly to just sell and a nearly clean island where we are building, rebuilding, decorating, redecorating....sigh.... Decided to dedicate our first island to DV-friends. So the dragonsai will be the heart of it and I'm thinking of somehow putting txt in there, maybe through arranging trees, lanterns or something like that. And though we managed to breed all dragontypes, our challenge is apparently to repeat our accomplishments. So far, panlong, sun and sandstorm (and blue fire) came our way only once....
