Hey AM, basically the colosseum allows you to have one of your dragons compete (nothing special, the dragon you choose will be there for 24 hours) the colosseum will have an event with one of the elements ie; plant, fire...etc....so the dragon you choose to participate should be that element, or part that element. The dragon should also be one of your higher level dragons because you will be awarded a gold, silver or bronze prize. The prize includes gems, extra points and coins, obviously the gold is worth more in prizes. Nice way to add to your gem pile.

Newbie Hi, I am new to the game and was wondering if anyone knew if there was a good breeding time chart I could use. I did my first breed (lvl4 fire/lvl4 plant) and got an hour breed with an hour hatch time (something I expected). On my second breed (lvl4 earth/lvl4 plant) I got an 14 hour breed time and I guess will have a 14 hour hatch time Any suggestions on what to do for 14 hours while I wait on the breeding process? Thankfully I will be asleep for alot of it.
The hour breed is flower, the fourteen hour is tree. Alyjens posted a chart a while ago let me see if I can find it and I will post it for you.

I saw it, and there is a small cottage too. But the thing that intrigues me is the description of the shamrock. It said that if bought, there will be a greater change the Clover dragon will appear. I don't know whether to take that seriously or not. Lol!
You never know with this game....I remember when I was trying so hard to get a rainbow, some of the posts mentioned that if you already had the habitat it increased your chances. It can't hurt to try, if it's not something your fond of you can always sell it later. BTW thanks for mentioning the cottage, I didn't see that earlier.
So I went visiting islands today, I don't do it anymore as often as I should. I was very surprised to see how many people have started using cheats and/or hacked the game for gems and coins. I suspect it was to get the Leap Year Dragon, because it have would have been in the last couple weeks. I went through and deleted those people from my friends list, it made me sad to see how many people have taken all of the fun from the game.
Agreed, I can't believe how many people have hacked it =[ I'm currently sitting on 2 incubating Lava's, a tree and a crystal dragon and I'm out of gems. Could be a while before I get my Clover dragon
Its pretty discouraging isnt it. I came up with the below calculation a few pages back. Basically you know 99% if they are cheating if they have all their dragons with gold crowns Considering it takes 327,660 treats to level a dragon to level 15. To get a gold statue you need 50x 327,660 = 16383000 for one gold statue To level a dragon to level 20 after you have a gold statue is 10,485,740 treats So to get 1 gold statue and level a dragon from 15 to 20 = 26841080 treats Cost of trunk of treats is $51.99 for 3,038,000 To get the required treats is 8.73 of the trunk = $454 $454 for the gold statue and only 1 dragon at level 20 I logged onto a user on this forums dragonvale city (who became level 30 the day the additional levels came out) and additionally on the same day that the Panlongs came out, had 20 of them all with gold crowns. if it takes 26513420 to get a dragon from 15 to 20 and you time that by 20 and then divide by a trunk of treats (3,038,000) then times that number by the cost ($51.99) = $9000
I did the same a couple weeks back. What started my trolling of these "friends" islands, was the fact they never gifted gems Luckily I didn't find that many with hacked cheats.......my clue was the number of gems they had. One had over 64,000 gems So any with obvious hacking were unfriended
