Thanks Amsterdam Re Bluefire....looked back at my notes and I found the best combo to be the following because my longest fail time was 5 hrs with quiet a few 3 hr fails.....I had no 48 hr fails....not sure if it will be the same in your case I was actually trying to get a sun or moon.... but never did with this combo. I used both lvl 10 FIRE/STORM. Got two back to back Blueys....5th & 6th tries....sending good luck vibes to ya EDIT UPDATE Eek, I just re read crirstles post above and this same combo has resulted in a 48 hr timer..... Leave the decision up to you on this one LOL
I'm not raging yet as I managed to breed my emerald dragon. However after joining dragonvale just after the bone dragon update I have managed to breed one solitary moon dragon and 13 suns. I currently have one 48 timer in the breeding cave from crystal/lichen and hoping like crazy it is a moon. I have never bred 2 suns together and have still managed to collect 13 of them. On another note, the new ability to mount eggs on a stand to be used as a decoration has made me think of the idea of trying to collect every egg in the game as a sort of mass collection. Just wondering if anyone else has thought of/tried this. And of course GOOD LUCK BREEDING EMERALD or whatever it is you are trying to bred at the moment.

Ok here's my latest sob story - multiple fails, outta gems speeding breeding (thanks, gifting friends), stuck in 14 & 24 hr cave waits. Poor me. At least I have 2 Crystals to play with. >whisper< - and haven't dialed up a 48 yet - sshhh!
@ girlpower thanks!! I actually have two bluefires but only one frostfire. I had a list of all the breeding but for the life of me can't find it. I am fairly certain that my daughter staked claim to the notebook it was in =] @noob I have figured out that getting a 48 hr timer at night gives you a moon while one during the day, a sun. Or at least seems to work that way for me. Also, since I have had so many failures, I had decided to collect all the eggs as well. I sold most of my rainbows and sun eggs mainly because I am trying to build up cash to get my 5th island and I decided I just wanted one egg each. I didn't care to keep all those dragon because I don't care about gold shrines and I think the orbs over the dragon's heads are annoying. Good luck on your moon!!
Poor Foxy girl.... Not fair perhaps try one of your new crystals (24 hr fail) and feed it up then breed with it....that's what I did, may work? Even consider replacing your second crystal with a newbie also? Fingers & toes crossed for you...haha, maybe that's the cause of my latest brain fart....cutting off circulation with crossed fingers and toes = starving brain of oxygen?
You might try switching up the pairs. I have a tendency to breed the same two dragons over and over. On the emerald, when I finally decided to swap them up, I got it right away. Could be a coincidence but it might be worth a try. I know you have a ling wait though. Good luck!!
F I N A L L Y! (was seriously considering shutting down DV after sun, moon, crystal, crystal, crystal... Switched orders. Again. After being at work with no possibility of even glancing at DV for 12 h... Lichen/Crystal on EBI. Try # gazillion)
I know how you feel I have gotten so frustrated with them. Some can get and some can not. But I did finally get it but I spent 20 dollars on gems. It took almost 5 days of breeding but can not get a second. If you go to facebook there asking how many have the island and the dragon there is over 3 thousand that have the island but no dragon. Wishing you lots of luck. I want something more to do too the habitats and more. They really need to make it a little easier and give us more to work with.
I did think of doing a display of all the eggs, but I would need more space. I also need the sale money to buy food for leveling up to gold. Once you display an egg you can't hatch or sell it, right? Don't like THAT! Congrats on your Emerald & hoping this 48 hr egg is a Moon! @Girlpower, congrats on your second Sun!
Congrats on your Emerald, Yasha! It's funny how sometimes if you consider giving up (or you have a good rant), things turn around. Though I must say, that with only a few days left in May and all the long fail times, I'm afraid to "give up" for even a day.
Actually you can sell it once it is displayed, just not hatch it. You just click on the egg and hit the sell button. It gives you the same amour as if you sold it rift away
Congrats on finally getting it. That was a really tough one. Hopefully the next one, which is pearl I think, will be easier.

Luminous crystal, can be bought for 50,000 DV cash.
I have cleared half of one of the islands and will display the eggs in the chessboard fashion. For now... I am always mindful not to clatter my islands with too many decorations, otherwise it looks like a junk yard. On the other hand I want to keep as many temporary ones ( fountain, butterfly pavilion, etc) as possible. Anyway, I'll see how that works out. You can't hatch them once displayed, but you can still sell them, they hold their value too. I've started displaying all my fails around my shrine island, hopefully there will be enough room to eventually have all eggs on display. Sun is going to be there soon from my emerald attempts. Only two away from seeing that gold metal shrine too! P.S. I wonder if BS would find it in their hearts to let me get emerald on my birthday? Well, complaining usually works, but I haven't tried hinting or begging yet.
