My 48 hour turned out to be a rainbow which isn't a bad thing as it can join my army that I use to help bear (or bare?) the costs of food. Still after that elusive moon (grinds teeth!!). I think I shall turn my attention to plasma/current now as butterfly took me almost 2 whole weeks and by then emerald was already out so I never had a chance to breed it. Does anyone have any good combinations apart from lightning/rust? (using this cos of the high paying rust/magnetic fails).
Magnetic/Water got me at least 2 of my Currents- good fail values there, too. Lightning/Swamp = my one Plasma Thanks for all the helpful Emerald tips, guys! Workin my 2 Crystals to the bone, - switchin the order and pairing every chance I get. Sped up the 14 with 2 gems, (thanks to gifts from friends)... 5 hr wait... oh well not too bad. If next month is Pearl, we prolly won't have to use Crystals.. hope to give em a rest, like hibernation retirement! Whadya think.....Pearl from Water types?

Thanks Aly ...... Really wish I could offer a perfect solution to you, Foxy and those still trying for your first Emerald......you just gotta get your Emerald, you just do! I will go back and have a read through wiki just to see if there's anything that may help....maybe a certain level or anything really, don't know what else I can do to help.....except sneak you both an early little red present tomorrow.,.shh, don't tell those next on my list I still have a bit of a gut feeling that successes will really start to flow within the last few days....if only we knew for sure when the cut off date is? Logically one would think it would be before they release the pearl to keep it at one per month but if this is the case I still think it REALLY stinks that they didn't release Emerald at the beginning of May....(My opinion has not changed on this even though I now have my Emerald) I'm sure they delight in seeing players squirm (no doubt secretly hoping they will end up caving in and buying it) hmm...and yes, it's already happened with some.....eek
Okay.....I will bite.......so are you gonna share what day your birthday is with the rest of us then? I think they should gift you one on the big day and if begging gets the job done, hey swallow your pride and lower your frame towards the floor This means Aly should also be gifted hers too Hmm, actually.....I think the rest of us should get our birthday dragons gifted to us too, how cool would that be plus that's one month we dont need to concern about gem dragons! I've still got 4 mths to wait....c'mon Sapphire!
They could let emerald continue till mid June, at least I hope they would. I doubt they'll make them easy to breed.
Hi all... Congrats to all those having good luck and for those of you that aren't, I suffer with you...still only one butterfly and zero luck on current, plasma or emerald. My daughter on the other hand got her emerald and just got her first blue fire yesterday with lvl 10 fire + lvl 10 steel in regular cave! Still got more pages to read...and back to the grind...good luck everyone!
So irritated! Apparently 14 is my number since that's all I seem to get anymore! It seems like all my fails are 12, 14, and 24 with a 48 and a handful of 6. Is there any point to getting a second of emerald since they can't be bred?
In the same boat I think we all agree, this is a "challenging" breeding combination due to the 14, 24 and 48 hour fails. I am fortunate to have one Emerald, both kids are still trying for their first Emerald. Because I am having soooo much fun playing other gameZ while waiting through two 48 hour fails (EBI has 30 more hours and Normal Cave has 22 more hours) I will still try for a second to put a level 10 baby on the island as well or may make the 2nd a Pedestal Egg and remember the fun this has been. Was very happy to pedestal my first 48 hour fail (a moon) and should have a sun and maybe a Rainbow or Moon breeding. Everybody is giving great suggestions. I wish I had more 31 hour luck and less 48 hour!

Ugh... Tried a new crystal with a new lichen, leveled them both to 10 and bam! Another 48h fail.... Sick of this game now!
Just tried leveling my second crystal to 15 and stuck it with a level 10 lichen and got another 48hr. Well, maybe this one is a rainbow. I really hope they take this emerald into next month a bit!
Just used a new crystal, leveled her up to 25, bred her with an old lichen (lv 15) and finally got a 31 hour timer. Feels like forever but it's only been a few days.. I'm sure most people will get it before the month is over.. I haven't really had gems to waste on speeding up fails.. I've pretty much waited out all my fails..Apart from each day I'd use my colosseum gems to speed up whatever I could..but I never had hoards of gems.. Maybe 5 a day max..alot of days I only got 2 gems from the coll.. Think in total it would have been about 16 tries (including EBC and normal breeding cave) I got about 3 24hr fails. No 48s. Mainly 6 hour and 14 hour fails. Probably pointless info but I like to know as much info as possible when I'm trying to breed a dragon so I thought I'd share. I'd also try mixing it up, using new crystal and lichens, swapping one new for one old, etc. Not sure if it helps but I tried the same crystal and lichen for ages and kept failing..wasn't long after switching that I finally got the lucid emmie. Can't wait til Junes dragon.. Junes gemstone is pearl..so imagine how pretty the pearl dragon will be.. So far I think the bloom is the cutest dragon but I'm sure the pearl dragon will give it a run for it's money! I'm also a bit annoyed they didn't launch gemstone island in April.. Diamond dragon would have been god damn gorgeous..I bet they speficially timed it that way, so that the diamond dragon will be the final gemstone dragon, the most awesome and sought after I bet it'll be
Try bumping the lichen to be higher than the Chrystal ...then place lichen first. That's how I finally stopped the 48 hr streak and produced my emerald. Lichen 15 + Chrystal 10 in the EBI
Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try tomorrow when I have a free cave. Had 3 48h fails, I do not want another lol...
