I have seen some posts on Facebook's Dragonvale page talking about Metal and Moss as another combo, but I haven't tried it yet. Plus, it also has the possibility of long fails too. You actually reminded me about getting a second Metal dragon so that I can start trying other combos besides Metal and Willow. Thanks Thorne! And like you said, sending out the Ruby vibes for those still trying to get it!
Just sent e-mail to BFS regarding the crappy low resolution of Malachite and some other dragons. If you look at Malachite next to original Metal you'll see pixelated lines, especially visible on the horns. It really annoys me that so many new dragons are low res. End rant.
Metal/Clover worked for me on first try. Had nothing but fails with Metal/Willow (although I did get a Pollen.)
Now that I'm lvl 35, I've come to the conclusion that I won't be getting another lvl cap increase for months so I plan to remove all my extra habitats, keeping 1 each for breeding new dragons (not the sun/moon tho) and replacing them with all rainbows. I'll make 19mil/day over 9mil/day even if I don't have my dragons on display.. gonna be banking SERIOUS money the next few months in time for the next big update, then once it comes I'll be ready for it muwahahaha!!! 2nd ruby in the works no malachite yet but that + ruby + rainbows is what I'm working on atm
Sounds like a great plan. I am not game to replace everything with rainbows even though 19 mil a day sounds awesome. There is always shrine leveling.
My cold/metal/lightning/plant shrines are at 28 each metal 18. The rest are gold, with 1 of each habitat I'll be able to still lvl the rest of my shrines. It costs 15.8mil to lvl 1 dragon to 15 so I could do 1 a day and have money to save. When the level increase comes again ill replace the extra rainbows with other habitats for the xp and do the same when I hit max level
Dragonsai I never thought I'd say this but I wish the tree could be upgraded a few more times to send more gems. I keep getting gifts to which I cannot reciprocate. Its not even the issue of not knowing who gave you gems (due to "others" reference instead of full list of people). I know who the people are but can't send gem for gem and it frustrates the heck out of me. I wish I could give back my own gems. Anyway, thank you to all those who gift me gems and apologise for not gifting back at all or not as much. Regarding the "others" issue I am surprised devs ignored this problem. I am 100% sure its not that hard to fix. I am sure we would appreciate it much more than some re-coloured dragons.
I gave up worrying about the 'gem for gem'...and those who don't have a tree yet are in even a tighter pickle. . My personal solution is keeping a spreadsheet and I just rotate through the list in turn. I keep track of when I last gem'd them, if they reciprocate gems (when is irrelevant), and if they are still playing Dragonvale within the last month...I don't like wasting gems on friends if they've stopped playing DV regularly, when others can seriously use them. so please don't feel like you have to send me 'gem for gem'. Just whenever you can
treasure habitat building... how the eff do u get the gold? malachite in market for 50 gems, any1 who buys it is soft, just saying... breed that shiz, I don't have one yet but I refuse to buy it with gems.. hmmmm so will they have a silver dragon to be the 2nd in the treasure habitat?
Well heck, another new dragon and I still don't have a Ruby. I have two more fails in my caves right now, and pulled one of my hibernating Scorch dragons out to see if he has any better luck. I'm up to 23 Firework eggs on display, one in the nursery, and a fail in one of my caves at the moment. I did manage to get a Pollen dragon as a fail when I was trying to get a Malachite...and the way my sinuses are feeling right now I don't think that was a good thing. Guess I best save up for my Sixth island now so I have a place to put the Treasure habitat. Looking at the bright side, these gem dragons are bogging me down so much and they are adding new dragons so frequently that I doubt I'll run out of things to try for in the game for a while.
Dragonvale breeding sandbox says Brass and flower. I have a 24 hour forge fail with that combo and a 24 hr fail with metal and firefly......That's still 19hrs and 12mins with the upgraded breeding caves.......... Ouch!! Have built the gold habitat, it's a bit 'busy' and..........gold? May get used to it, but reserving judgment at the moment, until I see the dragon..... this could be one of those impatient moments where I start using up some of my hoarded gems to speed up these long fails
