Well my firefly and sandstorm ended up giving a Bronze. Popped them back in the EBI...Got failed scorch. Then back in again, another Olympic timer Boy, I hope it's one of the other Olympics.

Hope your hubby is doing okay and recovering well from his op...I'm sure he is under your care Aww, please wish your daughter a very happy birthday from me and give her a big birthday hug really hope you get a Ruby in time for a belated pressie at least....guess you have tried switching them around and different levels .....sooo sorry that you don't have one yet....thats really sad....I did read on wiki where a couple of posters have said they got one after putting one or both of the dragons in the fountain of youth (like straight after) maybe you could throw a spare chrome in there while there's still time? WOOHOO!!!!! I finally have my first Ruby going! I was born in July and was worried that I wasn't going to get one. Now let's see if I can get number two to display. Good luck to all the others who haven't gotten one yet!

Just got a 35 hour timer on the EBI with sandstorm and lightning. I'm betting it will be a bronze, but we shall see! So many new dragons lately; it's hard keeping up!

Still missing gold, plasma, scoria, all three Olympic now... Sooooo far behind and I keep getting 24 hour fails! Does anyone know if the gold dragon is permanent or just a temporary dragon ( and scoria)? I want to know what I should be concentrating on.
Hookedat40, I had a lot of Ruby fails too and just got my two (one for egg displaying). I got them both after putting my Chrome lvl 10 through the fountain of youth. Read about it on Wiki, like girlpower said, and was skeptical. My first breed with Chrome/Scorch after that gave me my first Ruby. I had one fail in between and then got my second. Good luck!
That's exactly what I did too. I have another Chome in the fountain and I hope it works with that one as well. Has there been any official word from BFS that the Olympic dragons are not permanent?
Scoria is listed as a hybrid while Gold is a rare on Dragonvale Wiki. That means they are permanent Unfortunately, the Olympic dragons are all limited with huge fail times, so best start on those before the next gemstone comes out.
eeeek! I don't have a sandstorm and sonic yet... still trying to get a ruby for display and it's almost end of the month! T_T
Yeah! My second Olympic timer was Silver Olympic with Firefly and Sandstorm (used gems to speed to hatchery) Now I'll try for a third with the same combo...and maybe get the Gold Olympic. Is the Gold Olympic harder to get? What's been the consensus?
Yes it is, gold is the hardest to get I have one gold and 4 silver and 6 bronze. Good luck everyone. Still trying for a second gold.
I was able to get Sandstorm with Iron & Air. Hope that helps! Anybody else try to breed with the Olympic dragons? They only breed with other Olympic dragons. At least you're guaranteed an Olympic I sped up the incubation time on my last two and now have all 3. Got them all with Blazing & Crystal. Love how much $$ they make! Since I don't have a Gold , Rainbow or Panlong yet it seems like a lot. The habitat holds more than plant too, which means more $$ capture
