Agreed! They are taking the "greed is good" philosophy too far. I stopped racing now. Most of the time I get 2750 food. It's not like I was winning a huge number of gems before, but it was fun. It's no longer fun.
I just know that there dragons get more expensive and we never get one for coins . I save my gems in case i can not get some dragons. I think all the freeduim games are greedy. I do love dragonvale sometimes I would like to see the dragons a little less so all could buy if they could not breed it.Maybe we could send if we get one they can not get.We have all ask for that. Play Pokemon lately? Remember "Gotta catch 'em all!" and gifting other players? Mayme I should search for my old Game Boy and the version with Groudon. My best time ever was making it from the start to the Final Four in under four hours game time. I used only Groudon, with no power-ups, in all Final Four matches.
These dragons are driving me demented again!!! Still no Olympics at all managed 2 rubies but no gold yet. 1 malachite but no scoria and now more crystal fails aaaaargh! time for Devs to give us all a break I think! End of rant, toys well and truly out of the pram
The funny thing is that I was just talking about how only got one gem from races, but a while ago, I just raced and got another gem! I wonder how they set up the award system.
Starting to get to me a bit now too.....(auto pilot is not kicking in but frustration is) maybe Ive had too much on my plate lately Not as bad as your situation but no Gold for me either, thankful to have two oly bronzes, but no silver or gold. don't know whether to keep trying solely for the oly dragons before Peridot cos I am a bit worried I will miss out, but then I dont know how long it will take to get this months gem dragon either....decisions, decisions.... Thank you so much for the giggle though, not at you but the way you wrote your post.....really hit my funny bone spot...... Lol. Glad you're packin' it! IMHO go for the Peridot. I think since you have olysilver and gold it's possible to breed them later for a bronze, the more common of the three.
Oh .. I gave the Butterfly/Tree a try. Rainbow cooking. Sigh. I hear ya, GP, it's a lot harder lately to shift into auto-pilot.
Yeah! Frustrating. Bloody crystals. Feels like devs try to screw with us to get more gem purchases to make EOM reporting look better. I keep getting crystals. At least other fails are 30min - 12 hrs. Dunno, the fact that they have reduced significantly the chance of getting gems on a spinning wheel really turned me off. When it was first introduced I actually felt good about BS for a little while. oh well, back to the grind.
Yeah I stopped racing some days ago. Too many treats on the wheel and I won a gem only once. I liked it at first. Maybe it's meant to be fun for the lower level players.

Same goes here, I have two of all the limited dragon and almost all the displayed eggs (missing solstice until I have a chance to breed) but I am not sure if I'm going to get silver and gold oly's let alone two or an egg! While breeding for oly's and peridot I have had a rediculous amount of crystals probably close to 15 or so. My frustration is getting the best of me hopefully we all get what we need! My dummy spit worked As the title suggests, nothing like a wee dummy spit to get ones mojo back LOL. after getting two Oly bronzes with blazing/crystal, but all other combos producing nothing...I decided I would just stick with this combo and hope they may give me another oly (preferable gold, then silver).....well they did give me a gold, plus another bronze (that one will be an egg display) I get very nervous using crystal (obvious reasons, and Im over those fails) and now here I am using them for both limited dragons sheesh! Anyway, been using cactus/crystal (of course) to try and get Peridot and all fails this far.....here's the punch line....my cactus is called Aussie and my crystal is called Lucky.....had always done cactus/crystal, but this time I reversed the order and 99% sure I have my first Peridot cooking...see,now it's the right way round cos it's the order of LUCKY AUSSIE!!! @ foxy.....oh nooo, a rainbow really sucks right now so sorry, really hope the next one will be GOLD! @ Eugekava....yeah, I've not been racing mine for days either, although I never managed to get a gem even when they were more plentiful been visiting and see you have a beautiful coloured egg in your nursery @Rattler...wow, that's a lot of crystals really hope your luck changes very soon too, sending good luck wishes your way....rants and dummy spits often work when all else fails FWIW.....my Oly dragons have been got with blazing (lvl 15) / crystal (lvl 11).Peridot = crystal (lvl 13) / cactus (lvl 15) @ Jazbo.....haha, as if you wouldn't be taking your iPad....surely that's the first thing on your packing lists of things to take They'd be shocked if you were to leave that behind and we can't have them in that state before a holiday now can we To everyone else on here, good luck to those still trying for their Olys and Peridot and congrats to those who have some or all Still missing Oly silver and have no GOLD dragons yet, but they will have to wait till?
Rainbow moved on to the hatchery... but Cactus/Crystal and Blazing/Crystal are both producing Crystals. Waah!
Olympus Update Hi Everyone, Here's my Olympus tally so far: Air/Crystal - 1 Bronze Air/Quake - 1 Bronze Blazing Crystal - 1 Bronze Butterfly/Tree - 1 Bronze, 1 Silver Sonic/Dodo - 1 Bronze, 1 Silver From last night to this morning (and using gems to speed up breeding) I got 4 Olympus including the 2 Silver and 1 Quake. All of the breeding pairs of dragons are at level 13 except for the Dodo which is at level 15, my park level is at 35. Without changing combinations I'll continue with the Butterfly/Tree and Sonic/Dodo pairings until I get Gold...hopefully! Then on to Peridot. @Janis1 and Lola K 40 I have a group of gem exchange friends, but please keep me on your lists as a friend. Good luck to Everyone with Olympus and Peridot!
So GP (thought u might like this) took ur advice and switched my quake and air and got two sandstorm fails in a row imagine tha! But at least they were short fails
Hmm....guess it was worth a try and nice change from the long crystal fails at least.....way back when I had sooo much trouble getting one sandstorm (let alone two) I would have been doing the biggest happy dance to have what you just got....oh the ups and downs of this game huh Have you tried different levels of the same combo (if you have different levels)? I know it's all just random but it can be so frustrating at times too...... I just don't like the pressure of too many limited dragons happening at one time and for many this then becomes a gem buying frenzy (BS must love these times huh)
Oh Foxy....darn those crystals huh Can you perhaps try different levels too (that's if you haven't already).... Think we are all just floundering in the dark with these dragons, what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another (as we already know) but having the time limits really ramps up the frustration level (well for me anyway)...keep telling myself it's only a game but it's the longest one I've ever played (11 mths) so also feel that I've invested a lot of my time in it as have many others on here.
