Congrats! Beware. Just when you think you're catching up, bam!, they drop a few new dragons on us. heehee. I'm still working intensely on a 2nd Peridot. I'm with you, euge, soon as I get it, I'm packing up my Crystals - hoping to not use them for the REST OF THE YEAR! (hint hint BFS) REALLY tired of Crystal fails... not keeping count or I may cry. PLEASE give us a long break from Earth/Lightning combos!
Hi guys/gals..... great to read some of you now have your seasonal dragons as well as peridots...well done! Good luck to those still trying, thought I would share what has worked for me (hoping it may for you too) Finally got a second peridot with my same Lucky/ Aussie combo pair....was hard not to hatch this one, but wanted it for my egg display (knowing I would probably throw in the towel cos I'm all crystalled out too) Got all my Oly dragons (4 bronze, 2 gold, 1 silver) with the exact same combo..... blazing/crystal, nothing else worked for me and this combo got them mostly back to back (how lucky was I!) I bred my gold/silver to get my 2nd silver. Blazing/pollen have been my ‘seasonal' combo of choice. Got my first on the third try, but after approx 10 more tries I decided to try a few different combos......then this morning I decided to go back to B/P and whammo....second seasonal is now cooking. I decided on this combo after reading on wiki sandbox that you won't get stuck with a rainbow with this combo (can't believe I don't want a rainbow) @ Eugekava.....great job for getting all your shrines to (yellow) that's some serious food treats happening there....haha, I am close to my ‘second' yellow .. Have been trying for the last few days for that elusive GOLD dragon...sigh, no closer than I was weeks ago...even sold its lonely empty habitat for my seasonal dragon....finding this habitat shortage now getting very annoying... This is getting so lame BS....I don't want to have to sell anymore habitats to accommodate new ones when they could just increase the allowance When I ever get a goldie, I don't even know what to sell to accommodate it, plus it's a shame seasonal habitat didn't house two dragons..(wishful thinking) Can anyone remember back what 'Gold' combo worked well? I have done brass/fire sooo many times....plus many others, keep checking on wiki (hoping) for something else. Good luck all
Things I wish I could do in dragonvale: search a list of all dragons to see what I've got, instead of having to check all the habitats. And on the breeding sandbox site (the combo finder) I wish there was a way you could tell it "I want to be able to breed for x and y dragons but not z dragon". "sigh"
@Texas. Thanks. Good luck with that Oly Gold!! I did the same as you, put the same pair back in after the Seasonal, and got a 28 hour timer. Hopefully my first Gold too! @GP. Congrats on your Peridots, Olys and Seasonal! I got three Golds as Ruby fails (forgot the combo), some good came from that damn Ruby then lol. Good luck! @Bobo. Congrats on your yellow shrines!! I don't know how you found the time to do them with all these new dragons! I have the food to finish mine off, but have to breed 19 more lichen or evergreens... Good luck leveling to 20, that's gonna be expensive! Hopefully now that I have Peridot, and a Seasonal, I can catch up on missing dragons, and then finish off those damn shrines! Hope everyone enjoyed the Olympics. USA and China were brilliant as usual, but I think we (GB) gave them a good run, after all, we are a tiny country in comparison.
Hey GP, nice to see you check in.. Thanks for the B/P info, using that combo now too. It has a decent short list of fails, and NO CRYSTALS or Rainbows is extra nice! Sigh, I didn't realize Seasonal habi only holds 1. Bummer. Also.....Sorry to read that Goldie still eludes you. I got my two with Metal/Scorch. EDIT- On a brighter note, got my 2nd Peridot in the wings, yay! You know what that means?! Yes! -packin' away the Crystals! Double yay! Hey do you guys in the Southern hemi have a winter seasonal, or is it summer like up here? It would be really cool if it flipped like that for each global half. And, one more thing, kudos to GB for a great Olympics! Well done! And yes, you made a great showing especially for your size!! Great country, hope I get to visit someday.
Wow, it has been a while since I posted. I have been lurking mostly. Hello everyone! First of all, congrats on the Peridots and the Seasonals! I haven't tried working on Seasonal yet since I'm still trying to get a second Peridot for displaying purposes. But since the Olys and the Seasonal are permanent additions (or so we think so far about the latter dragon), I'm not too worried. In other news, I have reached my (personal) achievement of accumulating 1000 gems without buying! Whoo! It's a silly thing of mine when I first started, but I was pretty happy. I want to thank everyone who has gifted me too! I wouldn't have gotten here without you! Since I'm going down a list of gifters, it takes a while for me to send a gem back, but hopefully I can get to you soon~
I believe I used Flower/Metal back when Gold first came out. This was recommended by the Dragonvale Sandbox back before they updated to Brass/Fire. Plus, I was still trying to get a second Malachite so it worked out for me by accident. Good luck with Goldie~
Congrats on second Peridot. Like I mentioned before, I didn't try for a second one after the obvious reasons. Seasonal dragon looks exactly the same as in NH. Its green even though its winter here. I don't really understand what BS was hinting at when they said that there is a cousin on an opposite schedule. may be it will come in future update.
Aww, was really hoping they'd pulled it off. Maybe in an update. Well despite what I said, I left a Crystal out in the open, and brain-farted a breeding combo. Yeah, I used it with Pollen while trying for a Seasonal. Sigh. Turns out it's an oly.

LOL, good to hear some of your Ruby fails didn't produce all duds....now why couldn't I get a Gold with all my Ruby fails Oh well, its all luck of the draw as we well know....I'm still busily trying for Gold. @ Foxy girl...yippee you have another Peridot cooking....it's a relief to give the crystals a rest for sure....oh no, you did have a brain fart...you must have been on auto pilot (so used to clicking on the ol' crystal huh) Really hope B/P works for you too....fingers crossed thanks for the Gold combo...maybe now that Ruby is finished it may be worth another shot. That was also mine and I reached it yesterday morning...I have brought min. gems 4-5 few times way back, but I had also set this as something to achieve....so big congrats cos you did this without purchasing, very impressive... and I fully agree that neither of us could have done this without our awesome DV friends....wish I had a second dragonsai tree cos I am always 2-3 small note pages behind gifting back....wish we could gift back every 12 hours and I hate it when I get 4 names and others cos I am so anal about checking off my IOU gift list....doesn't happen too often though (mainly first thing in the morning, that's the price we pay for different world time zones) until BS may address this one day....okay I now have some different combos for Goldie, thanks lovely friends
Hi, GP. I agree, weather has been pretty ordinary lately. Seasonal dragon reflecting Aussie weather would be sitting under that tree drenched in water and feeling cold and miserable. Of course that's your average day in England, eh, Andy? Jabs aside, I hope you get your gold soon. I also wish they let us gift more gems per day. I hate having to choose who to give gems to everyday.
LOL mate...yeah that sums up an Aussie seasonal nicely...roll on Springtime Looking forward to Andy's reply now....nothing like a bit of light hearted banter. I find keeping my IOU gem list is the fairest way of gifting back, this way I don't need to pick and choose, the hardest part is when I gain a new DV friend who gifts me cos there are many names before them to gift back to....I do admit to deviating a little and initially sneaking them a gem, otherwise it would look like I wasn't reciprocating :eek (Im a typical Libran,all about balance and fairness) Think Goldie is really gonna challenge my patience...starting to feel like a déjà vue walk down Sandstorm memory lane GRR! I now have both caves working on it till Sapphire starts in Sept.....very grateful its not a limited one as I would have lucked out already. Maybe I should just stick with brass/fire and be done with it cos I can keep selling brass to grow food to work on the yellow' shrines? I keep getting cranky with this combo after numerous brasses though (I gotta get a grip) Hope you saw my congrats on your yellow shrine achievement...good stuff!
Peridot! I have been trying with the cactus and crystal for a while now with no luck! Does anyone else know a combo??
@girlpower: I've also been having a really tough time with the Gold dragon, but I got my first 48 hour gold timer with Metal/Flower in the regular cave about an hour ago. Seems like a pretty good combo.
IF you are trying for the perodit it is the only combo that I know of try it switched crystal and cactus.Good luck with your dragons.
I do the same thing...keeping a gem gifting list which I rotate thru. I find it's the fairest way with the limited number of gems to give. But I've found I need to occasionally cleanup that rotation list of friends. I was shocked when going thru Game Center there were people I was gifting who hadnt even logged on to DV since last March All those wasted gems I sent I've decided to give up on the second oly gold for now .... I've got a bad case of crystalitis They are starting to give me nightmares even. Gonna focus on trying for that Seasonal
