This is just a money grab from backflip, which I won't fault them for but it still sucks. I got my first piece after the first couple of races, but since then I have raced non stop for well over an hour, gold every time, and haven't gotten another piece. I'm not saying make it easy, but make it in the realm of possibility.
I posted this on the DV forums but wanted to mention it here as well, I've downloaded the update but have not even tried launching it yet. I wanted to read up on this thing first. After reading all the comments in forums and on the Wiki I'm guessing you'll only be able to get one per day or week or something like that. So I'm going to go ahead and buy the perch, race until I get one fragment and then stop. I've read too many posts of people going through millions of coins and still only having one piece. In fact I haven't heard of anyone yet who doesn't have a hacked copy (and I don't) who has gotten more than one piece yet. I could be wrong but that's the sense I'm getting. Obviously it'll be figured out for sure in a day or two.
I can't see that it has been mentioned yet, but there are in all three stages to add to the base for the dragon of Kairos: the cronolith , the Time Claw and the statue of Kairos. Then you can summon the dragon. It also says, that when all is done you will be able to skip time forward and hurry up stuff, like breeding/hatching time, crops and gold gathering. Jtfields, thanx for sparing us a lot of agony with perches, one a day will be the first try.
I don't mind the fragments being hard to get, or even the fact that the wheel is obviously rigged to give worse prizes most of the time. But it does get my goat that persevering doesn't seem to be rewarded at all, in that instead of having a low probability of a fragment on every spin, you get cut off for the day after one. That's a bit irritating. But I guess it's no big deal...it still shouldn't take THAT long to get the dragon, as the number of fragments is not ridiculously high. It won't take as long as the dull grind for gold shrines.
Got my first piece for kairos after three races. Looks like this is going to be a hit or miss kinda thing. I am sure it will take a while to get all the pieces....but I enjoy havIng goals lol
Took me 8 tries but I also won 2 gems which is unusual (at least for me). Done for the day. It'll be interesting tomorrow to see if everyone starts winning again. I'll probably hold off on racing anymore until I see some kind of confirmation on the Wiki as to how often you can win a fragment.
I also only have one piece. I did about 20 - 30 races and it wouldn't let me do anymore, it said "the track is being cleaned, try later". Have they only just added this?
No Andy, I have seen that before when racing first came out. But at that time it would only stop racing for an hour I think. No fragments here yet but I am a sporadic racer. Kor
They added it last night we got an update and they lifted the cap you can get Xp again. You have to pay gems for all of those pieces unless you win them. I know I spent over 1500 gems on the first two pieces. Gems I saved for my gem dragons now I start saving again. I still have one statue to get could take a while either way. Good luck Would think this is away for them to make more money none of the pieces are coins.
It's definitely on some sort of clock, one a day or every 6 hours. Got my second piece on my first race this morning.
They have had that before. Usually I can hit the entrance portal then go back to the race. The longest I had to wait was about 5 minutes. I received my second piece within 8 hours of my first. I race one race, received a piece I already had and they gave me a bonus spin, which I won gems. Then raced two more times and received a second piece. I think I have raced 15 times total. I don't mind getting gold or experience points for racing since the gold normally covers the cost of the race and the experience points I need. I just hate getting food! Lol. I do not think there are limiting pieces to one a day, since I already have two but they are probably going to be like gem dragons and a pain to get good luck everyone
I paid 75 gems for my 2nd piece today, raced 20 times, no fragments, and then got the time out phrase for cleaning. I just noticed my exp bar is moving again. But I can't find out the level . Think my strat will be to race 10 times per day, hope for the major exp wins, 1 fragment, and buy a fragment once a week cause I have the patience of a hungry child. Best of luck to all. The reason I think it's on a timer is bc I got my first piece last night in my first two races, then I raced for 2 hours straight and got nothing, this is all before midnight. Then I quit and go to bed, cut to waking up this morning, my very first race I get another piece. That's an amazing coincidence if its not on some sort of timer.
My game lets me race as many times as I want just as long as I have the 50,000 gold coins that it costs for each race. I've raced tons of times since yesterday and have only won one peice. I've come to the conclusion that this new legendary dragon is only for wealthy or eternally patient players.
I got the update on my 2nd generation iPod, but I thought last update was the last for my version. The perch does appears for me though.
From what I'm reading in the forums and Wiki, you can win a fragment every six hours (which is the same amount of time your dragon will speed up your island once you have it.) I believe the more valuable the fragment the lower the probability you have of winning it. The one thing that will make the process more frustrating is that fragments you've already obtained continue to appear on the wheel. If you get one you already have then you just get another spin (I don't think it starts your 6 hr timer over but I haven't seen confirmation of this.) I'm sure it will be a very frustrating process when you get down to those last couple of pieces.
Are you sure you were looking at my park Korvaire? I just checked my bar and it hasn't budged!!! Not a hint of green to be seen!! I've only just done the update about an hour ago and did 4 races. I won one piece for the new dragon habitat and three lots of 75000 coins.
