the hearts function like gems in Temple Run - you can use one to revive yourself if you die in the endless mode. In the story mode the hearts function like lives- you can keep progressing in the story mode while you have hearts left. Your hearts recharge after 15 minutes. You can also collect hearts during the endless mode and (last resort) you can always buy more from the shop if need be. hope this helps and apologies for the confusion. thanks for playing!
So i ended up downloading Dream Chaser again. Played story mode. Got down to 4 hearts at one point. Mission 11 always got me. 15 mins doesnt seem so bad, but wasting around 15 hearts in one stage means it'll happen again soon in a later stage. I currently have 3 hearts, and about to start Chapter 2. It feels better than the previous versions, but im still a little wary of the hearts system and the timers that come with it. I havent encountered any wait times yet as i always had hearts left as i play through. Hopefully i dont get to that point. I like the game being brutal at certain stages, but having to wait for timers to be able to "try again" will be reason enough for me to delete. Again. For now, i'll keep playing.
w00ho0 ^^ thanks for playing - well to be honest some of the levels get pretty difficult and chances are you might run out of hearts....*might*...but that depends on how you play....and as mentioned you actually get hearts when you play the endless mode as well....just lying there waiting to be collected. So all in all- lots of hearts to go around.
I'm really liking this game...Btw I really appreciate the story as the Neil gaiman fanatic that I am..
Finished story mode in 2 sittings, 1 chapter each session. It's a good runner game, but i imagine those who arent as versed as I am in runner games will encounter the timers a few times. Im just an above average runner player and not even close to being competitive, so i hope that means more people who play this do not ever see that dreaded timer in story mode. Why does that even exist? i dont know. All i know is that the devs never want to remove it, but they did big changes to compensate. Meh, even if i already finished the story, i still want the timers removed. Nonetheless, it's a good runner game, and what it should have been since the start, then at this point, there should be no more timers.
Ahaha... played my first endless run and got 2.8M in a single run score which got me to the top 100 in the score, dreams gathered and distance travelled all in one run leaderboards That run also unlocked a few achievements which increased my multiplier to x45. Now working on maxing upgrades.
